So, one of my new favorite makeup companies is Rituel de Fille. They make some fantastic products, and their Fortune Teller lipstick is a dead ringer for the long-discontinued and lamented Chanel Vamp. On Aug. 12th, they're launching two new colors (which they kindly sent me):

THE NIGHT WANDERER LIPSTICK IS A SMOKIER VERSION OF REVLON BLACKBERRY.

Seriously. Putting it over a burgundy lip liner (as I have in the selfie above), and ta-da! It's 1993 again, and I'm wearing the original formula of Revlon Blackberry. OH MY G-D I AM SO EXCITED.

Plus! The Sigil ash & ember eye soot, worn with the Nightshade ash & ember eye soot, duplicate my two favorite eye shadow colors from that era! I went through so many of the Revlon "Vintage Wine" eye shadow quad back in the day, and now I can STILL HAVE THAT LOOK.

As I said over on Tumblr, the only reason I wish I could still wear contacts is because there are days I miss doing swirly eyeliner.

I pine for certain aesthetic* parts of 90s goth. I say, with incense burning, Loreena McKennit swirling out of the speakers, and wearing bells on my ankles. I OWN MY DAMN CLICHES.

*"AESTHETIC!" cries all of Tumblr

Good to know! I still have an almost unused Blackberry which I've hoarded all these years.

YOU DO?!

If you could possibly slice a tiny sliver off, stick it in a small ziplock, and mail it to me, that would be a HUGE favor. I know people who will recreate colors.

Email me your address at darkphoenix54 at gmail dot com and I'll try and remember where I stashed it!

Well, after rooting through the vast makeup stash, I discovered that it's *not* Revlon Blackberry, but Cover Girl Blackberry Blush. Crap.

I *do* have Revlon Blackberry nail polish, if that is something you are questing for.

I have one or maybe two tubes of Vamp left. They are in a climate controlled spot that I dare not open until I finish using the current tube (which is why I don't rembmer how many tubes I squirreled away). I have a few months left on my current tube, as Vamp has been my default lipstick for, uh, how long has it been around? I have zillions of lippies, but I wear Vamp at least once a week, if not more.

Revlon Blackberry! You are killing me with all these near-forgotten details!

Oh, I am a veritable treasure trove of vintage 90s goth knowledge. Can I remember the pattern I'm supposed to load the silverware into the dishwasher? Oh no. But goth makeup and obscure goth designers? I'm your lady.

I still have a tube of Revlon Blackberry. When they discontinued it I scoured every Bartell's on the Eastside for it.

I am very interested in picking this up.

Amazing! And believe me, I hear you re: missing a version of something that hasn't been there for awhile. [:: sigh ::]

I always had to be super careful with those dark lipsticks though; I have a little too much lip for it to look svelt and sexy. Mostly it looked clowny on me. [:: woe ::]

Boooo that I can't wear their formula. I did, however, pick up a lovely blackberry-colored eggplant-y Too Faced gloss today that makes me happy.
