I have been given an astonishing gift to start out the year. Meg Creelman (@MargretheRavn on Twitter) sent me a doll made by the incomparable Wendy Froud.

This is Little Sister:



She’s wonderful and I’m taking her presence in my life as a sign that 2012 is going to be a good year.

I started crying out of sheer shocked joy when I unwrapped her.

She wasn't from the Windling auctions - the Frouds have an Etsy store! I still can't believe she was given to me.

The Little Sister was one of a pair. After I found out that Wendy Froud has an etsy site (seriously, look it up, beautiful dolls/figures) I knew I had to bring them both to the US.

I kept one of the two, with red hair, but I was so certain that the one above would be perfect for you. I'm so glad you like her!

Next up, building a proper house for my Little Sister. Probably furniture as well. If I am successful, I will happily make some for your Little Sister as well.

Oh, a house! That's a very good idea. Currently my Little Sister wanders from shelf to shelf, investigating things. The photo is from when when she was exploring the tea set and absinthe fountain.

Seanan (yes, that Seanan) has plans to download a plan for a house to build, so I will let you know how that all works. She has promised to let me use the plans. I'm not as avid a doll collector, but I do enjoy her dolls.
