I have been given an astonishing gift to start out the year. Meg Creelman (@MargretheRavn on Twitter) sent me a doll made by the incomparable Wendy Froud.

This is Little Sister:

She’s wonderful and I’m taking her presence in my life as a sign that 2012 is going to be a good year.

Oh Mother Goddess, Jilli!

Was she part of the Windling auctions? She's beautiful!

My very dear, I can't think of anyone who deserves her more, truly. *hugs you* What does Clovis think?

Perhaps after she's had a bit of time to settle in?

Please tell them both that Jennet of the Wicked Witchy Bears sends her regards via me and hopes that they'll have the chance to coordinate efforts re: world domination see each other soon!

OMG it's a Wendy Froud version of YOU. What an amazing gift!!!

also, that does remind me, I have some hair for Wendy Froud that I need to find a way to get to her.

My reaction to this was to say "Oh my God!" so loudly that I had to go explain mysle fto my husband. And then facepalm and explain who Wendy Froud is.

Seriously, she is beautiful and clearly perfect for you and happy 2012, indeed.

That is amazing...where can I go to buy one?..or something.. I had no idea one could buy a doll made by her.

The Frouds have an Etsy store! Search for World of Froud, and that should (eventually) give you a link.

The Little Sister was one of a pair. After I found out that Wendy Froud has an etsy site (seriously, look it up, beautiful dolls/figures) I knew I had to bring them both to the US.

I kept one of the two, with red hair, but I was so certain that the one above would be perfect for you. I'm so glad you like her!

Next up, building a proper house for my Little Sister. Probably furniture as well. If I am successful, I will happily make some for your Little Sister as well.

I *wondered* if you had gotten both and kept the red-haired girl! (Yes, I remembered the Etsy listing.)

Oh, a house! That's a very good idea. Currently my Little Sister wanders from shelf to shelf, investigating things. The photo is from when when she was exploring the tea set and absinthe fountain.

Excellent. It is always important to explore.

If I am fortunate enough to make it to Bats Day this year, I intent she will come along.

Seanan (yes, that Seanan) has plans to download a plan for a house to build, so I will let you know how that all works. She has promised to let me use the plans. I'm not as avid a doll collector, but I do enjoy her dolls.
