Dear Powers That Be, either one of these items would be a wonderful present for me. In case you were wondering.

Bat skull and feathers fascinator headband.

Gilded parakeet skull birdcage necklace.

(Yes, those are both clicky-links.)

I really REALLY want the bat skull & feathers headband. Hmmm, I wonder how that would work with my planned outfit for the Vampire Ball ... [livejournal.com profile] mineke, [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, what do you two think? (I want opinions about that from the rest of you, too, but Katie and the Stroppy One are the two who know what my outfit looks like.)

(What's that, you say? Tell you what is involved in my Vampire Ball outfit? Why, a full ruffled skirt in b&w stripes, and a black polonaise with an attached pink satin waistcoat, trimmed with black velvet and pink satin buttons.)

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could do something like that with my crow skull. I think I want something more "saloon girl" in feeling, though.

I'd see if you could get some pink feathers attached-- the skull is very white against very dark feathers, which I'd worry wouldn't show up well against your hair.

Both beautiful pieces, though!

That headband would be gorgeous on you!

Will you be out at Vogue this weekend? I would love to bring you some of those GLB's I keep meaning to give you. :)

I know I have some reproduction crow skulls rattling around somewhere, and I am very tempted to see if I could make my own version of that fascinator, more in keeping with my color scheme. I'd much rather have a bat skull, but ...

I'm in agreement. And I know it's probably the photography, but those feathers have a green tint...

Yes, yes you do. Take a look around at their site and see what else they're selling. I know you could do similar things, and probably with more of a macabre flair.

Phew, those are 'spensive! I do like the necklace. I'm not sold on the fascinator...

I'm quite certain that with a little time and effort that you or friends of yours could make something better for a more reasonable price. The hardest part will be finding the bat skull... (which I would love to have too!)

The necklace in particular seems egregiously expensive.

want to get this coat to you. When is a good time? And when you want to do thrift stuff?

Look what I found!

This weekend is right out, 'cos I've got company. Um, unless you're going to be at Club V, and then I could make sure to bring the jacket with me to hand off to you!

I don't know about thrifting. Let me look at the calendar and talk to some people. :)

I think you'd do a wonderful job on something like this.

No, they're definitely green. Millinery rooster feathers typically have that green sheen.

~looks up the Vampire Ball~ Oh, I wish I had a way to get to Portland, because that sounds like a lot of fun! Do take loads of pictures (if possible) and tell us all about it when you get back?

The birdcage one would be so much better if the bird-skull were suspended in the exact center of the birdcage, rather than squished up at the very top.

Re: Look what I found!

I love that people I know use "bat skulls" and "bulk discount" in the same sentence. Hee.

I like the parakeet skull. I would actually wear that.

this was my reaction to it as well. It makes the entire piece seem off balance.

I love that the bat skull has gold bling teeth.

I don't know if you do nail polish? But I thought of you, and I thought these were a neat idea for fancy nails in what seems an easy manner.

That etsy artist is really cool. I wonder where she gets the bats. I can never find dead bats!

I make bird skull necklaces and sell them on etsy as well. My prices are a bit lower.

maybe you want to check them out?
