Stephanie Meyer has made the draft of the first 12 chapters of Midnight Sun (Twilight from SparkleBoy's Edward's POV) publicly available. (clicky-link!) Because the draft had gotten leaked last week.
A quote from her post: I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely. Hmmm, does that look like a classic symptom of the Great Flounce-Off to anyone else? (Rhetorical question, folks.) Any bets as to how long until the sparkly fans start up interwebs petitions begging her to finish it?
And, oh rapture,
cleolinda has said she will recap the leaked chapters of Midnight Sun. Yaaaaay!

And I've heard some minor speculation that maybe she engineered the leak herself, because she was utterly shocked at the way people turned on her for Breaking Dawn, and this is either an attempt to show them how awesomely wonderful MS was going to be, or a way to get out of having to publish it and face more criticism. Admittedly, it's a stretch, but it's amusing to think about.

Link? I think I must read this. I got the same idea about Edward.
Though I must admit that despite those major flaws I still read the damn books like they were going out of style. Glad I waited until now to read them.

I have since learned, repeatedly, that it would be to get something truly awful published and have that live on as my contribution to literature.

Nifty. I'd rather she read it than have to read it myself.

I'm still bitter about Breaking Dawn, there, I said it. D: Reading
