I want a b&w striped sun dress. With a full skirt and a fitted bodice (So really, like all my other sun dresses, just in a stripey incarnation.)

Don't ask me WHY I suddenly want one, because I don't know. Well, other than the fact that I like b&w stripey clothing (as in, I'm still searching for a fitted stripey blazer), and the weather is going to make sun dresses (with shrugs to cover my arms) kind of necessary.

So yes, stripey sun dress. I don't suppose any of you have seen one in your wanderings about Teh Interwebs?

If you find one that isn't from a country where the dollar is toast, please let me know. The only ones I've been able to find are halter-style, which I know I don't need to explain the problems of to you.

believe it or not I purchased exactly that from Newport News a few months ago.

I think this one has a lot of potential in so many ways, but I can't find it for sale... Brand: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Why wouldn't you want one of those? I'd love one, too.

What about this? and it's on sale!

The only sizes left are 2 and 10. (I've been waiting for them to drop the price on that damn thing for a year and a half, and when they do, they don't have my size. Grrrr.)

Maybe if you got it a size or two bigger? you can alter the bodice, but there would be more material for the skirt, I think. OTOH, I don't know anything about sewing, so I could be totally wrong.

I saw a striped sun dress on the sale rack of the torrid at northgate yesterday. I thought of you, but neglected to send a message as soon as I got home. I have no idea what size. I suppose it might still be there.

Do you sew? I almost bought this pattern today.

I didn't only because I'm tired of sewing. I just made myself a whole Civil War reenactment wardrobe. *faint*

I'm betting you've already searched eBay up and down, but this is sorta getting closer

And this one is itty-bitty, but you could ask the seller what brand this is and then search out that brand obsessively (if you like this, that is)

I believe that lucky 13 dress you can also get with pink and black stripes if you look around the web. Just sayin' :D

Not sure what qualifies ones a a "sun dress" but there is this one which I just ordered. Looks like size L only might be a bit big on me shortly, but I figured I could take it in.

Dammit, dammit, dammit! That would PERFECT, and they're sold out of the size L in the b&w stripes. Argh!

From: [identity profile] metamorphmuse.livejournal.com

Damn, that sucks. If it arrives and won't work for me I'll let you know.

I question though if my order even was proccessed, as I didn't get a confirmation email.

Lookie black and pink stripes! http://www.fivetone.com/product.cfm?id=1469&type=brand (http://www.fivetone.com/product.cfm?id=1469&type=brand)

Their sizing runs pretty small so you definitely want to look at measurements.

Oooh, that is cute. I just don't know if the skirt would be full enough. I suppose I could always add gores to the skirt ...
