I know I ask for these every year, but this year I can give you linky-links to them. Just in case the elves in the dressmaking department are busy.

The red dress from Dracula!

The stripy polonaise I've been coveting forever and ever!

I have been very VERY good this year, what with not thumping writers OR having a complete meltdown during that last horrible deadline.

I hope things are running smoothly at the workshop! I promise I'll leave out extra ginger bats for you.

Love,

Princess Moonbeam

Au contraire. You just made me covet that red dress, even though I just made myself a bustle dress. Darn you! Darn you to heck!

seconded...but then, I can't lay the blame entirely at Milady's feet, as have been coveting that dress for awhile, but had manged to send it to the back of my mind as I have so much else that needs to be made first. And now, there it is...poking me it the ribs saying , 'make me make me!!!' Darn.

*sigh*

I've been wanting that red dress for ever so long! It's dreamy! :)

Also, I've always thought that Polonaise was a lovely and flattering style. That's quite a nice embodiment of it!

I swear if you get either of those dresses and I think that I can even remotely fit in to them, I will come over and liberate them for my own evil purposes. Muwahaha!! You have been warned. :->

Of course, I could make them myself if I had more time and wasn't so lazy. But hey, that's a lot of work. It'd be easier to come over and rescue them from you. *wink*

Oh holy shit! The red one! I am literally panting at my desk for it.

Now I thought I read that you sew? Hrm...maybe it was millinery? If you do sew, you can certainly make those yourself (or close to them)! Just get some advice from the ladies on the bulletin board of Truly Victorian. Here is a thread on making that very red dress: http://www.trulyvictorian.netfirms.com//phpbb/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1751&highlight=mina

Heather's polonaise pattern will be perfect for the stripy polonaise you want. I made one in white this past Spring. See here: http://pics.livejournal.com/madamekat/gallery/0000dfzt?.view=grid
And you will see there as well a friend of mine who has the Sleepy Hollow gown!

Good luck!

I'm pretty good at altering pre-made garments, but not-so-good at sewing something from scratch.

I think I am going to talk to one of my friends who is FAR more talented at sewing than I am, and see what sort of prices she may charge. Because I think I need a stripy polonaise for C13 ...

Oh, now, see? I can make a bustle ballgown from scratch, but I can't alter pre-made garments! How amusing is that? We'd make a great team!

And you absolutely need a stripey polonaise for C13. It would be most charming on you!

yes you need the stripes

I find myself amazed that you don't already own the polonaise....

It is sooooo you!!!
