So, are these overwhelming feelings of exhaustion and wooziness a sign of me coming down with something, or PMS? I don't know! Either way, I'm going to take it easy; if I do go for a walk today (which I know, I should), it will be a slow one.

I move to my new building (42) on November 15th. Which means packing, ugh. But it turns out that I will still have my own office, so no having to worry that my assorted posters, spo0o0o0o0oky postcards, and toy monsters will unnerve a new office-mate.

The best comment on the EGL headdress I linked to yesterday came from [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix: Is there a nicer way to say 'mutton dressed as parlor maid fetish lamb'? Exactly the sort of sanity check I needed. I mean, I still think those sorts of headdress-things are cute, but now I will stop trying to figure out what they'd look like on me.

Today's outfit was put together with the intent of distracting me from my feeling unwell. [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage said I look like a somewhat stern governess. (Yes, that *is* a compliment in our household.)

  • Black leather granny boots, laced with pink ribbons.

  • Black tights, worn under black cotton stockings with pink and black ribbons at the top. (Layers for warmth are important when you wear knee-length skirts.)

  • Black high-waisted knee-length ruffly skirt (from Retroscope), worn over fluffy pink knee-length petticoats.

  • Black and pink vertically-striped menswear-style silk blouse. (It was originally black and white striped, until it soaked in a stockpot full of pink dye.) The cuffs of the blouse are closed with silver cufflinks in the shape of gargoyle heads.

  • Black military-style waistcoat: two rows of silver buttons, no lapels, and a square-ish neckline. (An early birthday present from [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre, and I lurrrrves it!)

  • At the collar of the blouse, a black Chantilly lace and pink velvet ribbon jabot, which is decorated with an antique rhinestone and pearl brooch. (A one-of-a-kind piece by Louise Black designs.)

  • Other jewelry/accessories: black lace fingerless mitts with silver skull ornaments on them, the usual giant rings, and the usual antique mini pocket watch necklace. (The reason I wear it almost every day is because it is a family heirloom from my dad's side of the family. It comes from my great-great grandmother. My grandmother gave it to me a few years ago.)

  • Hair once again just worn down, with no hat or hair accessories.

  • Makeup: YSL Touche Eclat, translucent powder, MAC "Pink Opal" pigment on my lids with "Sketch" (a dark burgundy) very lightly blended into the crease. Black liquid eye liner on the top, MAC "Raven" pencil smudged with Aromaleigh's "gothic" powder on the bottom, DiorShow mascara, and NARS "Scarlet Empress" lipstick. Oh, and glasses, because the idea of putting in my contacts made me wince.

My former office-mate has already agreed to take a photo of this outfit. I'll try and get the picture posted tonight.

And now it is time for more tea, in a desperate attempt to stave off feeling unwell.
