- Work is ... a sucking void of entropy and uncertainty. There's still no word on what is going on with my team, what we're going to be working on, IF we're going to be working on anything. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will hear back VERY SOON from a different team about an interview loop for them.

- Because work is a sucking void of entropy and uncertainty, it is making me listless and filled with ennui. Which is bad, because I've got lots of my own writing to work on, not to mention hey, it's October! One of my favorite months! So I need to shake off the work-induced torpor and really focus on my personal projects.

- I've got a consultation appointment on Sunday with Joe Who to discuss my next tattoo. Swirly bats on my arms, yes indeed.

- So, do any of you have clothing items you constantly search for, even tho' you may already own a couple versions of them? Two of mine are black low-heeled granny boots and black waist-length military-style jackets. Yes, I DO need more of both items. I do. Why are you looking at me like that? No, I do not change the buttons on ALL of my military jackets to pink ones. Just some of them. Of course, speaking of black military jackets and granny boots leads me straight to Shallow Fashion Details! Under the cut tag as usual.

  • Black low-heeled granny boots with fur-trimmed tops.

  • Black tights.

  • Black knee-length skirt with two tiers of wide ruffles at the hem. The ruffles are black, edged with a second layer of pink & white striped ruffles. (The pink and white striped ruffles were liberated from some pillowcases I bought at a thrift store.)

  • Pink high-collared ruffly faux-Victorian blouse.

  • Black cotton velvet waist-length military jacket that has two rows of gunmetal-colored buttons running up the front, and closes with hooks and eyes.

  • Hair pulled back into a high ponytail with very fluffy lace-festooned hair ties.

  • Jewelry: antique jet brooch at the center of the blouse collar, antique silver mini pocketwatch pendant, tiny black skull earrings that dangle from pink bows (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] staxxy!), and the usual rings.

  • Makeup is the usual: YSL Touch Eclat under my eyes, translucent powder, black liquid liner on both my upper and lower lids, DiorShow mascara, and Vamp lipstick.

- Lets see, what else? I'm looking forward to the Unhallowed Metropolis signing party tomorrow night. I'm also looking forward to the Ozzy/Rob Zombie concert on the 18th. (What? You people know I'm a big fan of power chords and wildly over-the-top spectacle. Of course I'm attending the Ozzy/Rob Zombie show!) Oh, and I'm trying to decide if I am just going to give in and purchase S3 episodes of Supernatural off of iTunes, because there is no way I will be able to avoid being spoiled for what is going on.

That's about it for now. If everyone could wish me luck with job things and with writing, it would make me very happy.

Ahhhh you have answered the question I was going to ask when I pinged you earlier today.

Supernatural..

Um.. We Tivo Supernatural, do you have a VHS? I could make episodes magically come to your house. (it would be an excuse for me to see you and Pete, whom I miss terribly)

yay writing. I am certain work will sort itself out very soon!

I saw cute black 2" heel(?) granny boots at the new Northgate Shoe Pavilion (under Target) last night. They had a black-on-black wingtip pattern on the toe. They didn't have my size (10) but i seem to remember your feet being smaller than mine. I don't remember the price or how high the quality is because I usually pay attention to that after I determine if they have my size...but if you're in the vicinity anyway, have a look.

I like the military look too (though knee-length might be my favorite)--so if you see anything you don't like or want that might suit me, any color, let me know. :)

Oooh, Shoe Pavilion, you say? I have to stop by Northgate mall tonight anyway. I wonder if I can sweet-talk the Stroppy One into also looking at boots?

What size in military jackets should I be looking for if I'm looking for you? All I know is that you're smaller than me. :)

I am 38"-39" (34-36D) chest, with broad shoulders. So in men's clothing 38"-40" (and no trouble with the shoulders, heh) & in Misses clothing maybe an 8? It's sad that I know what men's clothes I can wear (or what teenagers') but not so much the actual ladies' clothing....

Don't forget I mean the new Shoe Pavilion...

(I'm having an OCD day.)

Long black trumpet-flared skirts, mostly in knits because of fluctuating waistline. I buy them over and over.

I thought of you and spoke admiringly of you today, about how poised and good-natured you remain even when enduring the pointing, stares, and laughter from people who can't imagine looking like themselves. Or perhaps they can't imagine what they would wear, if they were brave enough to look like themselves.

I told my friend about GCS and your impressive wardrobe as we left a coffee shop this morning. I had to smile at a fellow patron while we were there, who was staring and pointing. Literally.

It's pirate day at our homecoming week; I'm wearing:
- tricorn with crown insert and white and red dyed feathers
- red vest (used to be a blazer) with metallic ribbon, black lace, and skull button trim
- crushed black velvet dress
- white & black stripy tights
- red crocs mary janes (alice model)

I've been having a marvelous time all day. I wish that the woman this morning could have been less rude. I wonder if things would change if we didn't so emphasize uniformity of dress throughout our media. :-P

Dearest Miss Jilli,
I wish you the very best luck concerning your job things.
As for the writing, you really don't need any luck, you have talent.
With all due admiration and good wishes,
J~

Break a leg, lady! Here's hoping it's all you want it to be and it's offered to you on silver platter (as all good heads should be :>)

I {heart} Joe Who! He did my ankh. I haven't had a chance to stop by since it healed and tell him I LOVELOVELOVE it. If you think about it, you could mention to him I think it's awesome, that's be grand.

Looking forward to seeing the bats!

Pardon me for barging in, but may I ask you what your technique is for lining under the eyes with liquid liner. I have used liquid for years but have not found a way to line under the eye without making such a mess.

Thank you,
Rebecca

Oh, of course! The best technique I've discovered is to use a gel eyeliner (I prefer Fluidline by MAC), and a very small flat angled brush to apply it.

This (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=49826&catid=108564&aid=280302&aparam=bp5630) is the sort of brush I'm talking about, but I buy mine at the art supply store.

I hope that helps!

Hey, I'm going to the Ozzy concert too. I'll look out for you!
