Opinions on a jacket needed

So, I've been kinda-sorta coveting the Clockwork Cabaret jacket (Clicky link! WARNING, the model is wearing the jacket, stockings, and pink panties, so possibly NSFW) from Danger Dame for over a year now. More details, same warnings about the photos.

It's very cute. Not to mention black with pink details, and stretchy! But I'm still waffling about it. Thus, I turn to the invisible people in the glowy box on my desk for more opinions!

Oh, and another fashion-y question: cute Victorian-esque waist length jackets. Give me links, please. Yes, I need more of them. Really.

I just can't think of who it specifically *is*. :) (I haven't decided if it's me.)

There's also this (http://www.us.redoute.com/clothing/Velvet-Blazer-with-Eyelet-Trim.aspx?PfId=91126&DeptId=14142&producttypeid=1&pref=ps&PurchaseType=G), but they only have it left in blue. (I have the pink version, which is more of a warm, "sandy" pink than your signature shade.)

La Redoute has a lot of military-styled shorter jackets right now; I'm not sure if they're entirely your style, though.

Do I need to link anything from Newport News? I'm guessing not. :) I already bought that new asymmetric-rounded-closure velveteen jacket they've got.

I'm not seeing as many Victorian-inspired jackets this year as I did the previous couple of years. Fashion seems to be into those '50s-style cropped jackets with the flared sleeves for the coming winter.

Please don't buy this. The seams on it make it look like a denim jacket. You just don't do seams like that.

I think the jacket is adorable, but with the cut it will rise up a bit in front (because, my darling, your chest is a wee bit larger than the model in the photo), and be too short for your liking. It is already a bit short for your usual preferences, but this would push the line a bit further than I think you would be happy with.

I would give it a thumbs-down.

Mostly because of problems with the cut. It looks too "straight-up-and-down" to fit right.

The jacket doesn't fit the fairly busty model very well in their photo-shoot. And there's nothing to suggest that the cut would be more forgiving in a larger size. That "gapping-around-the-buttons" look she has going says to me that in the correct size, it would be sloppy around the middle. It's no fun having to choose between "too tight in the chest" and "too loose at the waist"!

So, unless you've seen this in person, and liked how it looked, I'd avoid it out of reasonable caution. (Unless you want to do major surgery on it. . .)

Eh, just doesn't do anything for me. Not special enough to warrant the price. The style looks very much like a standard blazer with some interesting trim & a patch. Nice trim, but I'm a cheapskate & won't pay more than $30 for something when it's only the trim I like. I'd thrift a black blazer & add stuff for the same look (not stretchy, but otherwise, same effect).

It's really cute -- is it your proper color, though? You're usually more of a cupcake-pink person, and this is decidedly fuchsia. If you have enough things that you'd wear it with, though, go for it!

It doesn't do anything for me, really. I don't think the cut is good for anyone except a stick figure, and I echo what stroppy_baggage said about the seams. I just can't picture you in a denim jacket.

what you do is hit a thrift shop, Grab a woman suit jacket that looks kinda like the one in this ebay thing

Heck you could grab that style from ebay a ton of sellers have it..and then you hit the craft shop look for pink pipeing or fringe and sew it to the sides,If you have some one who has a embroidery machine you could have your own "School crest" done up and put it on the side like the jacket you like.Or if you don't hunt about and find a pacth you like and then your all set.
The thing about that jacket you like is it looks cheaply made..if it where like 30 bucks I would say go for it but my concern is that you would have it for a little bit and then it would start wearing faster then something that much should.
