Off to Goth Night Off to Goth Night

Myself, [livejournal.com profile] tolkiencub, and [livejournal.com profile] cass404 before we headed off to the 80s/Goth night at the CHAC. It was a lovely night, and I absolutely will be attending as often as I can. Note for other Seattle Goths who've been around forever: [livejournal.com profile] tolkiencub and I agreed how the venue, the music, and the general ambience reminded us of the good parts of the Catwalk. (Everyone, sigh with nostalgia on 3! 1 ... 2 ... 3! siiiiiigh)

Later on there will be a post about my favorite YA vampire book, which I re-read last night with a more critical eye than usual, because I was worried that my flaily-hand glee over it had blinded me to the same sorts of horrible issues that plague the Twilight series. But no! Vampire Kisses is well-written, and is not full of skin-crawling issues, hurrah! So yeah, a post on that later.
I think I need a sanity check. In theory, I should be able to modify a pair of ballet flats into peep-toe ballet flats, yes? A sharp craft knife, careful measuring, and some narrow bias tape and glue to finish the cut edges?

I know, I know, it would depend on the shape and structure of the uppers of the flats. But really, I can't think of why it wouldn't work. And I'm sure I have a pair of ballet flats that I'm willing to sacrifice as an experiment.

(This post brought to you by not being able to find a pair of black fabric peep-toe flats that I like.)
