We hired professional tree people to come and do a substantial amount of work on our yard. The apple tree has been pruned, and all the blackberry vines and morning glory have been removed from it. The smaller apple tree is no longer leaning. And the blackberry thicket (too large to be called a patch) is GONE. I'm sure they'll come back (and maybe in time for me to harvest blackberries in late August), but for now? The yard is a lot larger.

Gathered from the lawn of the back yard just now: cherry blossoms, lichen, and apple blossom buds. All of which I promptly put on my altar, because hello, have you met me and my witchy habits?

my mind is boggling at the thicket removal. wow.

also, yay tree feeling better!

Oh, and if you have time, could you grab a baggy of apple blossoms for me? Just freeze them, and I will dry them myself. :)

What a lovely collections of flowers and greenery! I am sure it will look beautiful on your altar. :)

Speaking of which -- there is a very old oak tree in our backyard (it's at least 100 years old, probably planted by the original Victorian owners of our building). It has all sorts of terrible vines on it -- Irish Ivy, English Ivy (arrghhh invasive plants), and other things. It's well past time to cut those vines down! {adds to weekend plans, breaks out coping saw}
