The Stroppy One and I got up unreasonably early (well, unreasonably early in MY world, dammit), so we could head off to the Fremont Solstice Parade. Yes, in the grey, drizzly weather. But the parade was fun, as always, and I got to say hi to a bunch of lovely folks I know who were vending in the I <3 Rummage section.
One of the important-to-me traditions involving the Fremont Solstice Parade is stopping at the strawberry shortcake stand. Strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite things, and I look forward to getting one at the fair every year. HOWEVER. There was NO strawberry shortcake stand there this year! Woe! Woe and despair!
I consoled myself with chocolate-dipped strawberries onna-stick, which were tasty, but just not the same.
But still, yay! Solstice Parade!
