When real things happen to imaginary people

Thank you to everyone who posted about their jewelry and personal talismans! It was fascinating reading. Also, I hold starpolish responsible for the fact that I am now trying to find a miniature silver version of The Key To Hell from The Sandman. Because ... yeah. Because.

Yesterday's outfit ended up including strands of pearls from both of my grandmothers, along with all the other personal talismans. And yes, all of that made me feel more centered.

Another thing I do in times of emotional stress is make playlists. (Back at the dawn of time, it was mix tapes.) This is the current one, named Invocation. It's a work in progress; it feels like it's almost done, but I can't put my finger on what songs may be missing. Maybe something by Siouxsie? Anyway, yes, all female vocals, and a lot of Faith & The Muse. But at the moment, the most emotionally resonant song for me is Lily by Kate Bush.
