So, I may be the owner of a piano.
The people across the street tore down their garage today, and left a piano sitting in their driveway, along with a heap of other things. It was still there when I got home from work.
stroppy_baggage was, understandably, a little apprehensive of just wandering off with a piano, even if it did seem to be abandoned. But he went and talked to one of our next-door neighbors, who very reasonably pointed out that if the people across the street HAD wanted to keep the piano, they wouldn't have left it sitting outside all day and into the night.
(The owners of the garage, and presumably the piano, were not around at the time. Otherwise I obviously would have gone and asked them what they were going to do with the piano, instead of just batting my eyelashes at
stroppy_baggage. But, it's supposed to rain tonight! If the owners do want it back, I've at least made sure it is protected from the weather, right?)
So. I now have a piano in our garage. It is mostly in tune. Once I figure out where I want to put it, I will hire piano movers and then get it tuned. My music theory classes were a looooong time ago, but I've wanted a piano for ages.
EDIT And I really must point out that *I* am not the one who actually moved the piano into our garage. No no,
stroppy_baggage (with one of our neighbors) did all the heavy lifting and moving.
SFDs! Here's the picture, and the details are written out and lurking behind the cut tag.
Huh. I look tired in that picture. Which might have something to do with the fact that I have felt very tired for the past couple of days.
( The details: )
