The RealHusband called last night (he was in CA for an event) to break the news about David Bowie to me. He didn't want me to randomly run across a Tumblr post. How well he knows me.
I'm ... I'm numb. David Bowie looms large in my personal pantheon. I remember buying CHANGESONEBOWIE when I was fourteen, because I wanted to know more about the song that inspired Major Tom. And I was transfixed. "Changes" put its hooks into my young teen brain and didn't let go. And then I got The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, heard Ziggy Stardust and Rock n' Roll Suicide, and that was it. I was a fan for life
I'm very fortunate. I saw Bowie in concert five times. I was able to go to the Bowie Is exhibit at the V&A.
I can't believe he's gone.
