Good things:
- Modern pharmacology. I am a lifelong insomniac - I have memories from around age 4 or 5, being wide awake through the night and playing very quietly with my toys so I wouldn't disturb mom & dad. My life has been transformed via sleeping medication, and I am VERY THANKFUL for it.
- The never-ending earnestness of the upcoming generations of goths. Any time I start to feel jaded about The Scene (and that does happen, even to me), I go look at some of the tumblrs of the young 'uns out there, or I reread the email the younger babygoths send me. All of our spooky world is new to these kids, and their excitement is infectious.
- Triple-cream Brie. I am a simple creature, and triple-cream Brie makes me happy.
Ridiculous fashion pondering:
Firstly, tumblr is a wonderland of fantastic images of plus goth fashion. You knew that, right? Go take a look at this tumblr, it's one of my favorites.
Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of elastic cage harnesses. Like these two from CorvusCorone93 on Etsy.

I love the idea of them. I love how they look on the various plusgoth ladies I've seen photos of. I love the idea of wearing one with a severely tailored black high-collar Victorianesque blouse and a flowing skirt. My Body Image Demons love laughing at the very idea that I would wear such a thing.

Stupid Body Image Demons.

From looking at it, and thinking about similar things that I've either worn or had made on me (in that case, ropework), I think that the basic design would work well with large breasts. The sizing/measurements/proportions of the various lengths of elastic would need to be figured out in order to accommodate bustiness (a "one size" model almost certainly isn't), but it absolutely COULD work.
The main thing for me, in planning such an outfit, would be making sure that there is sufficient loose material *between* the breasts to allow for it -- you'd need a bra that provides separation rather than smooshed cleavage, and the shirt couldn't be SUPER-tight across the bust (because it needs to be pulled in by the elastic of the harness in order to give the shape/effect desired -- so you'd need to allow for a bit of ease there.)
Certainly think it *can* be done, although it might *best* be done with someone taking your measurements and trying it on you in person.
And I love the idea, and think it has much awesomeness potential ^___^

If you went with Design #1, the first set of straps could sit in the underboob area without a problem. (I also think that this design may be the most large-bust-friendly of the two, because it would require little adjustment in terms of strap length, since it's a less-complex design.)
If you went with Design #2, I'd want to ensure that the bottom strap was still visible when the harness was being worn, and that none of the elastic straps was pulling or buckling excessively. You'd want it to lie smooth, which is why getting it pinned on you might be the most advantageous course of action. (You could also go with a mix of the two designs, adding a second below-bust strap in order to ensure that the lowest strap was visible around waist level.)

I also hear you about Body Image Demons. It's something I've had to deal with myself, because of my weight. It was only this summer that I really dedicated to finding more clothing, because so much of my regular at-home wardrobe (and some amount of my out-of-the-house wardrobe) were starting to get worn, because I felt guilty about buying clothes, especially if they turned out not to fit as I wanted. And I had a week-long writer's workshop/retreat I went to in June, and my partner pointed out I really needed clothing for that... so I went on a bit of a spree (and I promise this is relevant) and there are some types of clothes that I've wanted to wear for a long time but felt like I couldn't because, well, like you said, Body Image Demons. I said fuck it, and bought the clothes I wanted, even if Body Image Demons were saying that I was ridiculous for wanting to wear them, much less actually wear them. (Primarily, shirts that had strategically placed holes; one with multiple down the back, and one with multiple slashes on the sleeves with grommets lining the slashes).
I don't know if this will be the same for you, but actually saying fuck it and wearing the clothes really helped with my confidence and I feel really good wearing them. So... if these are not out of price range, I'd go for it and see how they fit and feel. If they are slightly expensive and end up not working, I bet you could find someone to buy them. :)
