List three positive things for three days in a row? Sure, That sounds like a good thing to do. I tag ... [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, [livejournal.com profile] kambriel, and [livejournal.com profile] theda. (Who don't HAVE to do this, of course, only if they want to.)

1. It's September! The weather is starting to return to what I like: cool and overcast! Bring on the velvet!

2. Witchcraft. More and more I've been returning to my roots, as it were, and doing more of my version of witchery. It feels really good. It makes me feel more focused and more competent at everything.

3. Trashy, lurid, 70s era gothic romance & suspense paperbacks. I've been tracking down the more enticingly whackaloon "occult" ones, and they are the perfect junkfood reading for me. Does the cover art feature a lady in a flowing white nightgown, running away from a foreboding looking house? Is there a chance that the house is haunted, the master of the house is a devil worshipper, the child (there's always a child) is the reincarnation of a malevolent spirit, or are the villagers part of a demon-worshipping cult? Or all of those? FANTASTIC, I WANT TO READ IT.

*cough* and I have taken your suggestions for reading to heart and my library card is ON FIRE with putting things on hold (because my branch has nothing on hand, like ever, but will get it if another Chicago branch has it, I just have to wait a few days) <3 so "The Haunting of Hill House" is in transit as I type!

Please post titles of said "enticingly whackaloon "occult" ones". I adore the "gothic satanic" line:)

Slightly less lurid, but REALLY good -- Sarah Monette's "The Bone Key". Collection of linked short stories, Lovecraftiana without racism/sexism (and the stories are excellent -- creepy and touching and sad in turn.
