A very short recap: OMG DISNEYLAND! OMG VISITING PEOPLE I ADORE! OMG I'M MELTING!

My first night there:

Yes, I went straight to my spiritual home. OF COURSE I DID.

During Bats Day itself:

Monday, my last visit to my spiritual home.

Total number of visits to the Haunted Mansion: 15.
I miss my California friends already, and I miss Disneyland. But I did come back from the trip with a renewed sense of optimistic purpose and determination, so I'm going to put that to good use and get cracking on my assorted projects.

I'm glad you had so much fun, Auntie Jilli. :) I daresay you really, really needed that vacation.

That's better than coming back with a serotonin crash.

Silly question, but have you ever written about Bat's day etc on GCS? It would be an excellent way for the younger folks to meet people and show their adults that us freaks aren't all that different.

Freak Day at King's Dominion is coming up June 29th, it's been around for 30+ years... https://m.facebook.com/events/523927310994014/ and the DC crowd also does Freak Day at the National Zoo. Others I'm aware of are Freak Day at 6 Flags (NJ) and Real Industrial Radio usually does a day at 6 Flags Magic Mountain. The non Bat's Day events are usually one day atthe park with meetups and group pics, but still great fun.

So happy you got to go! Do you count each visit to the park or each trip through the haunted mansion? Is the lace skull a handmade piece on the back of your over dress? I just tore a t-shirt apart that had a lace skull on it but its small so I was pondering making a lace tape skull to finally finish off my steampunk Day of the Dead outfit.

I counted each trip through the Haunted Mansion!

the lace skull is an applique I bought from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/176656306/embroidered-skull-applique?ref=shop_home_active_3&ga_search_query=skull

I've purchased two of them so far (one black, one ivory) and hand-sewn them onto lace dresses. I am thinking of purchasing another ivory one to dye pink.

We lucked out at Disneyworld one year when it was pouring rain and we went through the haunted mansion 4 times in a row in 30 minutes! Thanks for the link. Bought a beige and and asked if she could sell me a black too. Mentioned a link to her shop is in a popular blog today so she might want to list more skulls. :o )

I think I actually spotted you in line at the Mansion on Friday, but was too far away to say hi. Glad you had such an awesome trip! We did too, but omg, the Orb. *shudders*
