I mean, yes, I'm taking Goth at the Office photos mostly for my own amusement, but let me know if they get to be Too Much, 'kay?

Pink & black striped jacket! That came that way from eBay UK! All I had to do was split the seams on the back panel so it fit over the petticoats. (eBay UK has a far better selection of stripey blazers than the US, in case any of you are on the hunt for one.)

I am *tired* Getting used to a daywalker schedule has been a challenge. I'm doing it, but sleeping in this weekend is going to be bliss.

sorry if you've answered this question a million times, but i am extremely in love with your skirts, and i was wondering, do you make most of them, buy most of them, or a combination of both (buy/alter?) and do you have any tips for petticoats, like is there a certain kind you prefer? i'm tired of boring flat skirts -- i'm looking to add some poof :)

Miss Alice, if Jilli ever gets tired of talking about clothes, we will rush her to the emergency room.

I buy and modify a lot of my skirts. My basic skirt is the Dolly Bustle skirt from Retroscope Fashions, and then I add extra trim or appliques to it. If you decide to purchase something from Retroscope (they have blouses, dresses, and jackets in addition to skirts!), please tell them I sent you. :)

I also make some of my skirts, like the stripey one I was wearing yesterday.

I swear by square dance petticoats, which I know is a horrible sin in the EGL world. But they work great for me, and the majority of my skirts are sturdy enough to help tame any excessive pouf. My go-to petticoat is the soft chiffon one from Malco Modes, #582.

wow! thank you very much for all the info! i have poked around on retroscope, but was never sure what to get (so hard to choose!), so i'm glad to have some direction now. thanks again! (and i'll definitely let them know you sent me!)

I just saw the h.naoto fashion show pics from SakuraCon. They really are creative and interesting items and I could definitely see people wearing them throughout their day, unlike some of the things I see from the mainstream fashion shows.

I am especially fond of the short skirt with the train.

Here's the clicky-link for those who haven't looked yet:

Personally, I will never tire of seeing these pictures. Such creativity THAT early in the morning - Oh! Envy Envy Envy!
You have also been my inspiration for dressing up @ work. Nothing quite as lovely or lady-like but when I used to be a t-shirt & jeans kind of blend-in-with-the-wallpaper kind of girl...now I have a wardrobe of lovely dresses & dress pants & blouses (OMG! did I ever hit the sales!) that I wear EVERY DAY! Dressing up at work and even for the weekends...has given me a different perspective on myself.
Thanks for that!

Never too much. I love seeing your outfits. This one is wonderful -- I like the pink stripes and the lace on your skirt. And your SHOES.. Fluevogs?
