Lessee, there's stress. But mostly, what keeps me up at night is my chronic insomnia. I've been an insomniac for as long as I can remember. And yes, I've tried almost every insomnia remedy known, but the only thing that really works is Ambien. My doctor has decided that it's a lesser evil than chronic sleep deprivation. (Hey, did you know that the world being kinda wiggly and soft-focus edges ISN'T NORMAL? Once I started getting regular sleep, that went away! Craziness, I know.)

I have also chronic insomnia, and with that ADD...so my brain is always taking over hours at night...
I was a couple of years very addicted to sleep medication, and 1 of them was Ambien.....so i feel i must warn your for the med....
My addiction was getting so bad i was hospitalized for it on the mental health section of the hospital....but that didn't help a thing...back home i was every night awake and on the day a zombie...
After that i taken myself to a clinic for people who have mild psychic problems and there i get from my psychiatrist the medicine Seroquel.
And from that day i didn't take 1 sleeping pill anymore! With a low dose of Seroquel you get very sleepy and sleep very deep like it should be with normal sleep, with dreams and such! Seroquel is on the market for people with psychoses but they take the high dosage, and i take 25 milligram...almost nothing but enough to sleep and make me a lot happier!
