In which [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre is awesome. Because she spirited me away from my house this early evening, and we did a quick run to our local Goodwill. My loot:

- A black w/ white pinstripes velvet blazer, which will be tailored to fit during this evening.

- a lovely illustrated book of Edgar Allan Poe poems.

- A still-in-the-packaging doll/action figure of Bela Lugosi as Dracula. (Stamp my cliché card NOW, thankyouverymuch.)

- A B&N "classic edition" hardback of Dracula, which will promptly be used for a craft project.

- A bag of silver filigree buttons.

- A pair of Fluevog boots. (!!!) In lovely condition yet too small for me (they're about a size 5), but I'm sure I'll be able to find a good home for them.

size 5 is Lisa sized.

she technically wears a 4.5, but can do 5 with socks and regularly does. She just might be interested in those. She bemoans not being able to have the Cool Shoes.

Eeee!

If they don't fit her, I'd like to try them--I'm a 5.5/6.

How do you do that--put in an order before you get there? ;-)

If I was able to put in an order, the 'vogs would have been my size. ;-)

I'm a UK 5...

Oh, I wonder if it's the same Bela figure I got back in 1991 or '92? I loved it because it actually *looked* like Bela, not just some random Dracula. No idea where it went, which is strange, but I was literally just thinking about it a few days ago... I remember at the time when I first found it (on a dressed up gothics being odd at Toys R Us outing), I joked it would make an excellent hood ornament ;)

I swear that those things just...materialize as you walk by!

Never in a hundred million years would Vogs show up in a NC Goodwill :-(

Goodwill greatness for the win! What a wonderful list of loot. Alas, the thrift stores around here rarely have 'good stuff'. I keep trying, though!

Also, what kind of size 5? UK womens? US womens?

I need to move to Seattle NOW.
My Goodwill is just lame :(

I wear an American size 5! Let us know if they are American or UK sized.

Was this the Ballard store? I occasionally find the weirdest, coolest things there. The big one on Dearborn has kind of been a bust for me the past several years. I still do better at the Crown Hill Value Village than anywhere else, though. (And I still miss the Thriftko.)

And yeah, you have to detail the Fluevogs. Even those of us who can't wear them want to live vicariously!
