My grandmother, my Dad's mom, passed away earlier this morning.
Dad is, understandably, numb.
I never got to spend as much time as I wanted with Grandma Vida, as she lived in California. But she was warm, funny, and flamboyant. I look a lot like her, and I have some similar personality quirks.
If you can, please spare a thought for her, and for my Dad, who is having to cope with a lot right now.

(When life hits you with this many whammies all at once--and it seems an awful lot of us either have been recently or are now--it's beyond overwhelming. Breathe. Hug. Do the best you can to hang on and don't beat yourself up for the moments when it feels like you can't. And remember that a lot of us out here are grateful for your wisdom, wit, perseverance, sparkling fashion sense and general you-ness.)

I am burning a candle (in the scent "Storm watch", because life is rather stormy for you now days) in her memory.
Your entire family is in my thoughts.

Best to your Dad. I'd stop by and give him a hug, but I'd germify him too. We'll see you folks soon. :-(
