One month

It's been a month since Mom passed. Thank you to everyone who has sent cards, emails, flowers, texts, and thoughts to us. (I keep looking at the thank-you notes I need to write, shuddering, and doing something else. I swear I will tackle them this week.)

There will be a remembrance party for her next month, and I will let people know the details as soon as we have them settled.

I miss her.

Don't sweat the small stuff. People won't mind if you get to the thank you cards next week or next month or next quarter. When you have healed enough to tackle them, they will be done.

I've had a hard time responding properly, given my mothers poor health and frequent trips to the hospital, but I wanted to tell you that my thoughts and prayers have been with you throughout.

There never seem to be proper words of comfort for the loss of a loved one; all I can say is that I hope your grief is eased as soon as it can be, and that your cherished memories will provide full comfort in time.
