Still on the ventilator, still in ICU. But her doctor says she IS making progress every day, and Dad says that she squeezed his fingers when he asked her to, so she's starting to become a little more lucid.
I don't know if you've heard of this stuff but I just got this Vampire Brew Hot Chocolate (http://www.mcstevens.com/coffincafevampirebrewbloodredhotchocolate.aspx) that is red when you mix it up. The company offers pink hot chocolate too but the Vampire Brew comes in a little coffin tin.
I thought you might enjoy this kind of thing. Best wishes for your mom's continued speedy recovery!
Even though I don't know you in *real* life,I have found myself, over the last couple of days, pausing and hoping that your mom, your dad and yourself are all doing ok. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts :)
You are in my thoughts and prayers - as is the rest of your family, mom especially.
I know...most of what you're going through. My mom's currently in the hospital with breathing issues due to her recurrant breast cancer. It's especially awful when you're a girl and it's your mum lying there. Worse when you haven't slept, and you really can't, listening for the phone even when you don't intend to.
Be as strong as you can, and then lean on your stroppy one when the tears take over. Having a strong support when you need it can be all the difference in the world. And have faith - she's going to get through this.
I just found out about this, and I am so so glad to hear that she is making progress. I will light a candle for her later, and keep you and your family in my thoughts.
