partially because my darling Shechem spent the weekend at DisneyWorld (and ooooooh! am I jealous!), partially because I ran into someone I last saw sometime in 1988. Which was cool, because he was a very sweet boy then, and he's still lots of fun to talk to. Not to mention finding out that another mutual friend ISN'T dead from an overdose (which is what I expected), but doing well and still living in the area. When he isn't spending half the year in Bali. laugh.
I am in a *much* better mood now-a-days. Finally finding out that why yes, my job is indeed going away and I need to find another one has made a HUGE difference to my mood. Now I just need to sweet-talk the universe into giving me the job I'm interested in ...
Spent Sat. going to the enormous neighborhood-wide garage sale w/ K. and L. My loot included 4" wide pink eyelet lace (which promptly went on a black velvet skirt), cute Halloween material to make bloomers out of, black sparkly bracelets, a perfect-condition full-skirted black velvet dress that fits wonderfully, a violet velvet dress that's on its way to becoming a frock coat, and ...
black pointy-toe Manalo mules. $200+ shoes, for twenty bucks. Wheeeeee! K. made grumpy noises about killing me because I snagged them before her, but I reassured her that they wouldn't have fit her. Besides, she scored a gorgeous Donna Karan blazer, so she should have no complaints.
Bleah. I don't really want to be at work, but I'm going to spend most of the day re-writing one of the versions of my resume, and searching the internal career website. No meetings for me!
