I slept 11 hours last night, and I'm still exhausted. I also feel like I've been beaten with sticks, I have a headache, and I'm slightly congested. In spite of all of this, I am hoping to drag my sickly self to dinner at
ladymoira's tonight, because liver and onions (with homemade apple sauce for dessert) sounds really, REALLY good.
The Stroppy One (who is not sick, thank goodness) is off being a mighty hunter/gatherer, and will soon bring me back coffee, mac & cheese, soy chocolate pudding, and Market Spice Tea. Then I am going to indulge in comfort reading (Soulless by Gail Carriger or From Dust Returned by Ray Bradbury), comfort movies (Beetlejuice, most likely), and perhaps a very hot bath.

seriously. I have been forcing myself to actually be good about really taking good care of myself with this, and I managed to avoid the congestion side turning into somehting far worse (as it has with many we know). I highly recommend sudafed for the sinus congestion, and guiafenisen as soon as it starts to head for cough. And keep taking them until both of those symptoms are gone. My observation is that the additional ingredients in "cold medication" exacerbates the virus otherwise. I took just the chemicals necessary, and am doing quite well. Everyone else I know who had the plague either did not take care of themselves at all or took cold meds, and got worse. Lots worse.
Could be coincidence. BUT! (hee) Virii do not respond to any medication, and never have. THe best you can do is contain the symptoms to avoid letting them turn into anything worse. push fluids like man, to try to wash it out. avoid contact with other people (as much as possible) so it can't spread. Wait it out, seriously.

Once again, I am EXTREMELY THANKFUL you came up with KiB. I've been having the Stroppy One coat my back in it, and it's been helping a lot.
I'm trying to wait it out. But MAN, I am tired of being sick. You know me, I get fidgety if I can't do stuff, and I'm too fuzzy-brained to do any proper writing.

I am doing Nano, and it is going fairly well. Some days are more words than others, and I anticipate it will slow down as I get beyond the mid-point in the book. But for right now I am still in the "getting to know you" part of character establishment, let alone actual development. And I have the advantage of being able to go interact with my wacky little characters in City, since that is where the main 5 came from. It's extremely loosely a fanfic, but enough of one that I can go poke my character and play dress up with them if I want to, and that is strangely comforting. Like they really exist somewhere a little more consistent than my own imagination. Blah blah blah, but a tangible(ish) thing I can touch of them is reassuring.
Anyway, did I ever give you menthol crystals?
