I tried this with black cuticles, a green undercoat and red blood so it looks like I have rotting zombie nails and have been sinking them into warm red flesh. It came out great! Ok, other than my coworkers assuming I was going for a watermelon effect :P I have pics but I haven't uploaded them yet. Cow-orkers are silly - it looks nothing like watermelon :P

The one great benefit to this kind of manicure you didn't even mention - it's superb for those of us (like me) who will chip our nails within about 15 minutes of applying polish. If you screw it up? Just retouch with more blood!

That is a lovely nail paint job.
It won't go with my costume - Femme!Four Doctor Who (I knitted The Scarf and want to show it off), but I printed out the directions for another time. And I'll definitely be sharing them with my Nail Lady just in case some of her clients may like it.
