After we went to the Ballard Farmers' Market yesterday, I decided to stop by the Blackbird Candy shop, with the intention of picking up another of the amazing violet chocolate bars from Rococo Chocolates.

BLACKBIRD CANDY SHOP IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.

::cue stamping of feet and general sulking::

I love floral-infused chocolate, and Rococo Chocolate's violet and rose chocolate bars were the best I'd ever found. Does Rococo Chocolate ship to the US? Ha. No, they do not.

Woe! Woe and despair!

Theo Chocolate had a fantastic rose & ginger dark chocolate bar, but it was a Valentine's -only special. (I knew I should have picked up more of them!)

Do any of you lovely folks know of good rose or violet -flavored chocolates?

I'm not surprised it closed--when we were in there, on a gorgeous and lively Saturday afternoon, the shop was so dead that the clerk had to actually turn the register back on for me to make my purchase. Glad I did, though!

I am reasonably certain that I saw rose chocolate bars at this place (http://inballard.com/detail.php?id=savourspecialtyfoods), which is right along Market. Even if I'm wrong about that, they definitely have some other interesting flavors.

My mother went to the Chocolate Salon a couple of weeks ago; I'll ask her if she recalls anybody there having rose or violet offerings.

Remember that little chocolate shop we went to down near Pike Place, back in Spring? They're closed too. D:

If you mean the one on Post Alley by the Kells, the last I knew they were changing owners and redoing the inside. At least, that was their signage about a month ago.

Newtree is available in the US, and they have lavender, thyme, pink peppercorn, ginger, rose, apricot, and a few other interesting flavors.

I found them at the tea room in the UW Medical Center, and I've seen them at fancy deli markets downtown...

I love LOVE LOVE Dude, Sweet (based out of Dallas). Rosebud (http://www.dudesweetchocolate.com/Rosebud-Rosebud.htm) might be close to what you're looking for. The site describes it as "udge with rose petal jam and mahleb." I've had them and they're lovely.

The yerba mate tea truffles and marzipan dates are lovely, too, BTW.

If you try them, hope they are to your liking!

Can you have a bunch shipped to your mother-in-law and then shipped out here?

OMG these chocolates look good, but the prices... o_O Seriously, this is expensive stuff! Unfortunately, I do not know any chocolateries in the U.S. of A., but I do hope you'll find a good substitute for your floral chocolates.

Floral chocolates are a favourite of mine too - and Rococo's are among the best! A far more affordable option is Marks & Spencer's Fairtrade milk chocolate with rose - definitely melt in your mouth territory and soooo smooth and creamy - but I haven't seen it on the shelves for ages.

I'm not sure if you can find these in the States, but Charbonnel et Walker make lovely rose and violet cream chocolates. Another to watch out for is Godiva's violet creams that I have only ever found around Mother's Day.

Happy hunting...and munching!!!

Sweet Elyse/ Be Sweet Confections makes rose infused chocolates and they are very good. They also come in lavender and orange blossom. Whole Foods carries them.

Only if you know someone visiting you from Australia.
Haigh's have the most amazing rose and violet dark chocolate creams (http://haighschocolates.com.au/our_chocolates/hand-made_chocolates/dark_chocolates.html) that I have ever experienced.

Good luck with finding more.

I didn't try the lavender chocolate from this place in Maine http://blackdinahchocolatiers.com, but their other chocolates were very good.
