Apparently I am All About lace collars and jabots right now. (There are clicky-links galore in this post. Of course there are.)

Black lace cravat, scarf, and cuffs on Etsy. (This is also the listing that makes me kind of want a severely-tailored white or ivory Victorian-ish jacket, but that's entirely another path of madness.)

Venetian lace collar from Victorian Trading Co. One of the ladies who attended the Norwescon Gothic Charm School tea party was wearing this (and the matching cuffs!), and it was lovely. That's not a bad price for what it is, either.

House of Usher lace cuff or demi-choker jabot from RavenEve Jewelry. RavenEve always does lovely work.

Of course, if you want to go for decadent and luxurious, then you go look at something like the Decadence ascot from Kambriel. Or the Fourtuny ascot.

Yes, I do know how to make jabots and ascots. But I have no free time! Well, not enough free time to sit down and make a few frilly things. So instead, I sneak a few minutes out of my day to window-shop.

I have the the Victorian Trading Co. black cuffs around here somewhere. Ordered from the supplier for some event and never used them. They are yours when they turn up during packing. :0 )

Eeee! Oh, thank you!

(I am very sad that I can't show up at your yard sale.)

Erm, minor confession here. I own a vintage silk ascot that filtered down to me through a long line of dead people. Very cool and all that, but I have no idea how to wear it and with what.
Can I bug you, oh wise goth of the cupcake, for suggestions?

Oooh, you lucky thing!

You could wear it with any collared, dress-style shirt, really. (And a waistcoat or suit jacket.) If it helps, think of it as a really big tie. :)

This is aimed at women wearing ascots, but it's a good idea (http://www.greatestlook.com/techniques/ascotwrapscarf.jpg). And here is a tutorial on Instructables. (http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-tie-a-tie%3a-Ascot/)

Thank you! Gob, I was tying it like the neckerchiefs we wore in Boy Scouts (shhhh! that was long, long ago).

I've been using my antique lacey handkerchiefs as jabots. Just pinch one in the center, and pin it at the throat with a brooch, preferably something cameo-like.
