I'm at work today. You see, I haven't been on this particular contract long enough to qualify for holiday pay. As a consequence, I will not be paid for yesterday's holiday, and I have to be in the office editing today. None of the full-time employees are here, and there's only one other person in the contractor bay where I am. The office is a ghost town, and makes me imagine horror movie scenarios for the empty hallways.

The muscle tension migraine + sinus headache I was battling yesterday is trying to come back today. Since I woke up this morning, I've taken an Advil Cold & Sinus capsule, had breakfast, two pots of tea, and a handful of almonds. All of that has merely blunted the edges of the migraine, so I have broken out the heavy-duty stuff: my last hoarded Feminax tablet from the UK. (From when their formula was paracetamol, codeine, and caffeine.) I am going to be fuzzy, but VERY AWAKE. And pain-free, I hope.

All of this means that I am quite pleased that I am wearing CrankyBloomers under my petticoats today. They're very appropriate.

I hope all of you are having a good day. For those of you that work retail, my sympathies, I hope you survive the Black Friday sales, and that you didn't give in to the urge to start screaming at customers. (Why yes, I worked retail in the past. There's a REASON my primary stress nightmare is about finding myself in a store and hearing "Jillian, cashier please" echo across the speakers.)

Happy Pegasus Wants You to Smile

At this point I'd be more than happy to work retail. It's still a paycheque. :(

*hugs* for the migraine. I hope you don't get the kind that turn you into Jack Sparrow or make you hallucinate or completely lose your equilibrium. The synaesthesia can be fun sometimes, though. Ah, who'm I kidding? The synaesthesia is fun all the time. :3

I get terrible migraines too, I take co-codamol. Lovely, lovely codeine, hehe x

Aw man, that sucks. I'm a part-timer and thus don't get holiday pay, but the entire building was closed yesterday and today so I get the day off by default and they're really good about giving me unpaid time off.

A migraine, however, makes it TOTALLY unfair. I hope you feel better - I mostly resort to the over-the-counter caffeine/aspirin/acetaminophen stuff, while my mom has happy happy doctor-prescribed barbituates. FUN.

Sorry you are stuck at work. I too am working today. Sitting in a tech rehearsal until 10:30 tonight.

I get Fuirinol or Barbabutacet...same stuff as you get from UK. It takes about an hour to take the pain off...meanwhile I get chatty, the super hungry the super tired.

Hope you feel better!

Ooh, you can take codeine without throwing up? That's a blessing!

I've worked retail in the past. I know that nightmare.

I hope your migrane goes away :(.

I put in my 8 hours in the office today too. dude, CRICKETS I'm telling you XD. I would'a been off had I not had freaking bronchitis and a sinus infection a few weeks ago and blew through the rest of my paid time off *sigh*.

Ah, Feminax. It was a very good Christmas that year. I'm sorry to hear that you are stuck at work *and* didn't get paid for yesterday *and* have a headache! That is a trifecta of suck. At least it's not pouring down rain - that must count for something!

I'm enjoying having Shawn home today and just sitting by the window looking out at the trees and birds and sunshine. Could be worse!

As I live in Canada and work for the Government, I get whatever holidays other gov stooges get off. Though before this job I worked a combined 1 year 1 month in a call center . . . *shudder*

*hands you her cuddly yet stupid fat kitty* Hug a kitty, you will feel better.

Only British marketers could come up with the name "Feminax". That sounds like a cross between Wonder Woman and Paul Bunyan.

Hope your migraine becomes a distant memory soon. I started to get one yesterday myself - but I think that might have been partially situational... At any rate, I'm glad it went away but I'm kind of tired today...
