Probably no Shallow Fashion Details photo today, sorry. I know I should like this outfit (as it is one I have worn in the past and been perfectly happy with), but thanks to the hormonal joys of being a girl, I am filled with free-floating cranky (and cramps). Therefore I have an irrational dislike of what I am wearing, and don't want to take a picture of it. Again, sorry. Yes, I know I'm being ridiculous. Have I mentioned lately that I loathe hormonal mood-swings?

Anyway. Last night involved sushi, cupcakes, and getting to see ouranophobe, who I have not seen in FOREVER. (And poetry_lady, who I should try to see more often, what with her living in the same state and everything.) It was a wonderful evening of socializing and catching up with an old friend.

In news of ridiculous things I vaguely want to look for: someone explain to me why I have a strong urge to find very cute Alice In Wonderland fabric and make a skirt incorporating it? Other than the fact that I'm a big fan of Alice In Wonderland, and also other than the fact that finding elegantly whimsical gothy fabric prints is nigh-impossible, I mean. (And not that I should be thinking about sewing anything right now, as I OH MY GOD NEED TO BE CONCENTRATING ON WRITING. Not any other projects. Yes, really, I know that. I DO.)

I would want to use it for fabrics for EGL clothes, which I'd sell. But I need the means first. As far as I know, you can do multiple colors, but you have to do each layer separately. This is just one of those ideas that might not happen, though.

Hm, when you're selling the printed fabrics then it'd be worth a second thought, yes. I presume you thought about spooky mansions, ravens, chandeliers and the like? It's an interesting development of EGL, but personally I prefer the classier designs with just a few well-placed ruffles.

The etsy vid shows what you need (which you probably already know), a German DIY description says you can also buy one of those lamps which are used on construction sites to replace the sun. You'd also need a glass table then to put the prepared frame on it and do that transfer thing. (Sorry for my weird English, I never tried to explain DIY things in English before. not that I'd be a pro at DIY either... (o_O)) Hm, I'd also check whether it's cheaper to buy a frame or make one yourself...

I plan to do both. I might work on plain designs only until I can get financially stable enough to get into the screenprinting. No worries on your English, I understand you fine. :) I'm sitting right next to a glass table, I'd just have to remove the clutter from it. XD

It's a matter of waiting a year and a half until my family is in a better financial state, or I get a job. I think I'm just accidentally sabotaging myself with job hunting, because I quit my last job to go back to school, and I said that I want to get a masters part-time when I can afford it. I guess I shouldn't say that. But honestly, it upsets me that a college that just called me doesn't care about me furthering my education. I hate being dishonest to people, even though I know the majority of people I interview with I'll never speak to again.

I was just looking around and I actually found a cheap way to do it with fabric hoops and modge podge. I'm thinking about trying that out, but I don't know if it would work well for complicated designs.
