Yes, it's here! Of Goth Fashion. With Clicky-links!

A huge thank you to the Finishing School of Flail, [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, and all the wonderful designers and retailers that I talk about in the post!

As always, if you lovely people could help spread the word about the new post, that would be lovely.

Hey, Seattle-area peeps: keep the afternoon of Sunday, November 15th open! There's a reading happening at Elliot Bay Books featuring me and fantastic ElderGoth writer Clint Catalyst!

Now, to do some stuff, and prep for today's GCS video filming at Gargoyles. Wheee!

I totally agree with your advice about finding things in mainstream shops and charity shops. I'm a big fan of this because I can't actually afford the designer goth stuff yet, but it also has its advantages. Not only does it make me feel less costumey, but I take a certain amount of pride in turning heads when everything except for a few accessories or maybe one big statement item (i.e. a bustle skirt from Fan Plus Friend) came from the same shops they go to. :)

Everything I have ever gotten from Leigh Ann is FANTASTIC. I just recently got the underbust waistcoat thingie, and oh! It's gorgeous.

Exactly! The majority of my gothy jackets/waistcoats/blouses all have come from mainstream or charity shops. I customize them, tailor them, and sometimes soak them in RIT dye to get the effect I want, but they all started out as "normal" clothing.

Oh, I hate being on a budget with so many wonder finds!

I think my kitsh-y love is spying the Beetlejuice skirt a little too much!

Great new post at Gothic Charm School.

Awww! I'm sending a giant hug to you all the way from here ~ I hope you feel it :)

Let's figure out that tea-date for next year somehow, o.k.?

ha! i'd point you toward various western-wear shops (including the one connected to the Gentleman's Emporium, which you link), but there aren't that many spaghetti-western goths these days. maybe i can change that.

*sigh* Yes. Shopping for 'goth' clothing.

Personally when I talk about going gothic I find that people have a hard time distinguishing 'goth' from 'gothic'. Because one is the base word of the other. But in terms of styles these things are quite differnt.

I find the local Wal-Mart. K-Mart and Target to be perfectly fince sources of wearables.

And there's nothing wrong with going to your local Party City for bits and bobs during the Hallowed season. Though I wish the top hats came a bit smaller in size.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting those squared red and purple lensed glassed last year. Now I cannot locate any easily. Sigh.

You want to look like you’ve put some thought into what you’re wearing, not like a walking pile of laundry from the Haunted Mansion.

This made me LOL! Great visual!
