Of Parents Disapproving Of Your Evolving Style, With A Short Tangent About Emilie Autumn

As always, the Finishing School Of Flail, [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, and the Stroppy One were Very Very Helpful with making sure I hadn't left any words out. Thank you!

And also just like always, if folks could help spread the word about the new post, that would be Very Very Helpful, too. Thank you!

That was a lovely response! If I were her at that age, I might just email the entry to my mother XD I must say, while I'm not a fan of EA anymore, she is great at marketing.

Lord, I have aspirations of eventually reaching EA's level of marketing skill.

The internet has made my life and marketing easier. The way in which she uses teh internetz blows my mind.

Lovely post!

Regarding your thoughts about the Spanish Prime Minister - it's actually Spanish law that prohibits media from displaying pictures of minor children, so it's not any objection to their personal style at all.

Completely off-topic, but I am looking to acquire a top-hat for everyday wear (so no Halloween costume accessories), do you have any suggestions for online retailers?

Whoops, I meant to reply to your earlier question about this last night! I'm sorry.

I really like Uniformal Warehouse: http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com/

They have excellent prices on top hats, and a wide variety of styles. I hope that helps!

Re: Typo!

Ah-ha! Thank you for pointing that out. It's now been fixed.

Victorian style run through the Apocalypse sounds a lot like what most people wear in Shadowrun. It makes me giggle. ^_^

There's going to be a BOOK by EA about acquiring that wonderful style of hers? Excellent! \(^o^)/ Though, admittedly, I'm more into dear Captain Maggot's style. <3

Ah, poor Megan. I'm one of those who had to learn to ignore their mother and her very different opinion on how to dress properly and which colours (not) to wear. As well as ignoring my sister, I just happen to have been shopping some pullovers and cardigans today and my sister was kind of crestfallen when she learned that all items were black. She'd hoped I'd have moved on to 'different colours' as she put it. Uhm, no. I like black. Especially because it makes me look slimmer than I am. (^.~)

I too think that Captain Maggot is absolutely adorable. I'm really looking forward to FINALLY getting to see EA & the Bloody Crumpets live.

Yes, EA is releasing a book. From what I understand, it's autobiographical.

I think EA's style is fantastic; it's like we're from the same family, stylistically, but she's the ragamuffin one. (Which is a look I just can't pull off, no matter how hard I try.)

Aww, yes, she is! And so small, and petite and daring! When I saw the whole lot of them earlier this year, dear Maggot did something like a fire hula hoop. I think she even breathed fire, though my memory fails me a bit at that part. One of the Bloody Crumpets pushed her off the stage so Maggot had to squeeze her way through the audience to get back on. She bumped into me. <3
The Countessa had her strips of white cloth dangling from the ceiling and she herself was dangling from the strips of cloth... <3

EA's style is very lovely indeed, but I like yours just as much. Copying styles isn't very wise and only reflects your own indecision on who you are, but adopting styles and add your own personality to it is a lot more challenging. Just my thoughts about that matter.
I saw a lot of girls at the EA concerts trying to look like her or a Bloody Crumpet, but it ended up looking just like cosplay. I normally don what I'm feeling like that day, so it happened I showed up in a black tee and cord trousers. Though dolling up might win you a place in the Rat Game. ^.~
