I got about a quarter of the Storage Heap Room O' Doom cleaned out and a bit more organized. There is still a LOT more to be done. To say that I am a packrat is an epic bit of understatement. My eventual goal is to turn that room into an office and sewing room. Is that even remotely possible? I don't know, but I'm going to try.

In dealing with the SRO'D, I am discovering that I have a lot of random pieces of fabric that I don't want. A LOT. My current plan is to just take everything I don't want and donate it to Goodwill or another thrift store.

Wow, I ache. Cleaning is better exercise than I realized!

Sometimes hospitals and charities are always looking for scraps like that for quilting projects and other sorts of arts & crafts. I know the childrens hospital down here uses scraps to make quilts, the volunteers make them, to sell at fundraisers. There might be something like that up there. :)

I just got finished doing just that very project today. :)

Sometimes chores like that are easier to do with company. I'm pretty good at organizing (everyone buy myself - heh - though I am making my own progress, slowly) and would be happy to help you if you want it. It would be an opportunity to visit while getting stuff done.

I have a cunning plan with the bits of fabric

Make grab bags of the fabric by color and put them up for sale via your LJ at like prices of
20$ for a small bag of fabric and stuff
30$ for a bigger bag of fabric and stuff
50$ for a huge bag of fabric and stuff or the good good stuff.

Have that be with free ship and see if you can't get more shoe money and make people you know happy with a random grab bag of lady of manners fabric and crafts stuff.

I am good with the cunning plans yes.

I'm down with this if you're fairly detailed in describing the contents of said grab bags. Also consider grouping grab bags by fabric families (gothy clothing sewing; cottons for clothing or quilting, etc).

I'd be so on this like green on leaves if you do it. :D

You are a GENIUS. Even when you have a head injury.

This cunning plan would take a bit more effort on my part, but I could use any money I make to buy storage stuff to better organize the room. (And to buy shoes, of course.)
