Dear LJ, today has not been a great day

Today has, for a variety of reasons, been a fairly awful and unpleasant day. Unexpected and expensive dental work (with a follow-up visit in two weeks), and some other stuff. Let's just say that while today was not the Worst Day Ever, it was not a good day for our household.

But! I just listened to my voicemail, and the ever-fabulous poetry_lady left a message with info about a possible job lead. So that is a good start for improvement.

Tomorrow will be better, right? Yes, I'm asking for reassurance. Or distraction. Both, really. Dear Powers That Be, I am best suited for living life as an independently-wealthy eccentric. Please make that happen VERY SOON, okay?

I walked down to visit Thea today. They drove me home, because I got blisters on my toes. We talked lots. It was nice, blisters be damned.

This might cheer you up, although it is going to sound horribly suck-uppy. I've been feeling pretty crap myself lately. A lot of stressful and unpleasant things came all at once - poor health, moving house, some pretty serious family problems - and I've been miserable and tense. To make me feel better, my boyfriend bought me a little present - your book. And it worked! I appreciated the thought and definitely appreciated the new reading material. And, coincidentally, I started reading your Livejournal about a week ago, so I now I have an excuse to drop in and say hi :).

Anyway, I hope the rest of the day is a little kinder to you. I should probably start doing my job now ... *sigh*.

Tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow will not involve the dentist. Tomorrow I will go camping, which you will not have to do tomorrow or any other time. Tomorrow you can follow up on that job lead.

I'm in favor of you being an independently-wealthy eccentric, especially if it involves a second home in a mansion on the Hill with a nice big kitchen with original cabinetry.

Just picture the life you WANT to lead in vivid detail, then live life as if this scenario already exists. Do not focus on the details that you do not like in your life; to do so gives them power, and THEY will be your reality. Live your life AS IF you already are an independently wealthy eccentric (well, you have it half-covered already, right? ;) )and the Universe will make it so. This has worked for me so many times, and about things that seemed like total impossibilities.
