The alarm went off at 6:45 this morning, ohgod. That is the part of traveling I don't deal well with. I have now had coffee and a muffin, but am still not feeling entirely awake.

Today's plan is fly home, say hi to the kitties, nap (oh please oh please), and then get ready for tonight's reading at the Bellevue Regional Library!

So, what did you peeps do over the weekend? Please tell me in the comments, 'cos I haven't read my FL since, erm, Friday morning. And I do want to know is going on with you folks!

Well, Friday night, I didn't do anything terribly fun or interesting.

Saturday and Sunday were spent writing about my boring Friday night and finishing up the F2F recap, which got so long I had to split it (ta da (http://spectralbovine.livejournal.com/171390.html)).

I also pet your book a couple times. It's very pettable.

Is the Bellevue Regional Library as cool as the Seattle Public Library? If it does not have neon yellow escalators, the answer is no.

Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] chronovius and I puttered around the house (doing kitty-chores - feeding, litter boxes, scritches and luvvins) lazily until around 5pm, when we then went to a friend's house in Woodland Hills to drop off BoyZilla (see userpic) and pick up a friend so that we could trek out to West Hollywood, for some book thingy.

Sunday was spent recovering from same, reading a hefty amount of fantasy fiction and being lazy by making microwave mac'n'cheese for dinner. I just couldn't face heating up the oven for real mac'n'cheese.

This morning, I've got laundry started (I know - thrilling, i'n'it?), and while I was going to start making an anime music video, I sat down at the computer to start watching source material and thought, "Eh... no." So, I'll be retreating to the BatCave bedroom to read more library books, maybe watch a few crime shows, and perhaps make lunch later.

I'll probably also be looking over the crochet pattern [livejournal.com profile] archmage's wife sent me, so I can make the Cthulhu Ski Mask (http://archmage.livejournal.com/2062431.html) for my family. Even my 5 yr old son wants one! How nifty is that?

Well, lets see... on Friday I went to this Really Cool Book Signing with my mother, my husband and our very own BabyBat. While neither myself, nor my family had anything over-the-top cool to wear, it was Extremely Cool to go and listen and generally have fun. Also ran into a couple people there that I had not seen in a while, much chittering was done about the cuteness of my boy and the absolutely fantabulous author.

Saturday and Sunday were spent glee-ing over the new book, working on my 1925 Gatsby dress and watching Indiana Jones movies, because they are just that fun. Oh! and I made scones.

She did, indeed! And she gave it to me, because she loves me and she knows I will love it. :)

Went to Pride in San Francisco on Sunday & despite lots of sunscreen, appear to have gotten a little bit of color [note: I was thinking about the "what's not goth?" question at the book signing & realized that, once again, I violate goth principles -- in Jamaica & Hawaii, I have loitered in the sun of my own accord bec. it felt so good. Also, with my coloring, my skin goes brownish no matter how much & how high an SPF sunscreen I apply! iz TropiGoth].

Pride went wonderfully, your adverts were passed out... much joy and sunscreen.

Vending Pride Festival was fun... I kicked myself for not asking you for some post cards to have on my table.

I got a check from the repo guys that I've been waiting for, for 5 months to get.

Sage got a job offer today.

Now to make the house spotless to attempt to sell it.

On Saturday, I went to Georgetown's Artopia (http://www.artopiaseattle.com/) to help out with Hazard Factory's Power Tool Races and Derby (http://www.hazardfactory.org/events/sptrd09/). On Sunday, my Burning Man camp (http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs104.snc1/5028_1070076479823_1463452161_30160547_6927366_n.jpg) headed to the park to repair our very large shade structure (http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs110.snc1/4809_1070453689253_1463452161_30161442_5019798_n.jpg).

I went out Friday evening with a bunch of fun people and made some new friends! :)

Saturday I had a Big Nasty Headache.
Sunday I recovered from my Big Nasty Headache.

We won't be able to make it tonight, we'll be waiting to see whether or not we've become home owners.

I read the fourth Harry Potter book! And didn't finish cleaning my house. Yay!

I've been waking up at 5am for months now. It's weird.

Anyone in LA or SF ask you to sign their chest?

From: [identity profile] maiaarts.livejournal.com

my family came over

I got to see Kara and Ellen, and all of the amazing things that Kara has done in school - oh the shoe designs!!!!!!!

Then I got hit on the head - spent all day Sunday in bed most of it sleeping.

And same with today - we have godkids, and Athena just needs to sleep, she isn't feeling well.

Eric took Aidan to the park - they give out free lunches for kids at parks all Summer long!

I am hoping to feel good enough to go to the Event tonight - I don't want poor Eric to have to handle the event alone.... but I don't know - THE MIGRAINE IS HERE......

Housework, walked the dog, Turkish food, Cheri, wine tasting, dressing up and lovely party with lots more wine.

BTW, Flickr is being aggressively unhelpful about my inquiry (with a sense that the answer to it ought to be "no, you can't do that" except they won't come out and say so) and I'm kind of pissed off about the whole thing and not inclined to do much with them at the moment. So although it's clunkier, it might work better to ask people for the links to their photos and then have someone [me] collect the info in one place to be shared.

From: [identity profile] its-crabapple.livejournal.com

Uh?

All you need to do is create a "group" call it something associative with The Goth of Perkyness, and then everyone who wants to post pictures to Flickr just adds them to the group.

There is nothing they can say "no" to...

From: [identity profile] icprncs.livejournal.com

They can say "no" because they could consider it a commercial venture, which is not permitted except under specific circumstances--this is the part they won't give me a straight answer on. And if they decide it's an unauthorized commercial venture, I lose my account.

If you want to do this and take the risk, feel free to do so. I'm not willing to.

From: [identity profile] its-crabapple.livejournal.com

It's not a commercial venture. There are hundred'sf folks on Flickr who post photo's that are related to their commercial businesses.

What you can't do is promote a business, or sell services. This would be neither. As long as there is a disclaimer with the photo's stating that it is for enjoyment and sharing by friends, family and fans... All is good!

Something I did, when I posted the set that I did already.

Worked on the house. :-)

Also prepared the Kid absent Seattle, with your book in hand. We'll be airporting this evening, which will disallow our attendance in Bellevue. Hope to see you soon!

Biggest thing right now - Friday I will be putting the Ozman's words into action: I'm coming home!

Had Birthstravaganza: Part One! (muppets and picnic in the park) on Saturday and Birthstravaganza: Part Two! (ridiculous amount of gaming and nerdery) yesterday and they were both lots of fun!

I hope you had a completely amazing time in California.

Went to Artopia with m'boy for power tool races, art, and Burners. Got more memory for my son's and my digicams because we're both going on long trips this year. Got a handlebar basket for my bike to reduce the sweatiness of my commute. Started sewing my Halloween costume.

From: [identity profile] weaselmom.livejournal.com

Shopped unsuccessfully for furniture, finished cleaning out the storage unit, built out the office, unpacked some boxes, read parts of your book out loud to Shawn over breakfast, and utterly failed to keep my weasel from drinking out of the toilet.

I worked, because that's how my job is: I work on the weekends, and I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, so Monday is my Friday.

I also, against my better judgement, let my 13-year-old borrow my underbust corset for a LARP costume, albeit with warnings that it was an EXPENSIVE item and if she got it muddy or damaged she would not like the consequences. Drove her an hour to the LARP on Friday evening, during which time we saw a double rainbow and my iPod had a 100% winning streak; the hour drive back home alone was almost as good, musically speaking.

Then I had to drive TWO hours each way on Sunday to collect her from the friend she stayed with after the LARP. Didn't even get to see my boyfriend into the bargain. The things I do for this child!

I took my mother to our first-ever Scottish Highland Games, which involved lots of bagpipes, haggis, throwing of large objects, and dancing. And a parasol and sunscreen, 'cause it was HOT.

I had a hole swallow me whole at work, and I didn't get out of my office until 8:40pm...

There are times... I want to throttle some architects...

Friday I was busy meeting everyone and you :D I had a weekend of downtime and/or errands, followed by tooling around San Jose with friends before watching Transformers 2. Today was a lot of things to do, including errands, dr's appt, and VNV Nation concert :DDD!

I needed distractions and an escape from the evil sun so I made it a movie weekend. I saw UP, Star Trek (for the second time)and Away We Go I also picked up your book which I'm loving by the way.

Totally off topic but this (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=27128602) reminded me of you.
