So, crawl out of bed late late late (tho' I slept well last night), and discover that NEIL GAIMAN HAS TWITTERED ABOUT ME. About Gothic Charm School!

::insert squeaking and flailing here::

I ... words fail. Words gone. NEIL GAIMAN!

I'm going to be giddy about this all day. Hell, all weekend! Perhaps for the rest of my life!

That is totally worth being giddy about.

*cheers for you*

I'm a reader of Gothic Charm-school, and have followed you, dear Lady, for ages since Gothic.net. I'm a big fan, and I only just recently discovered your LJ. I hope you do not mind that I have you friended, and the above explains hopefully why I'm here.

Oh my god, that's SO AWESOME! Congratulations! :D :D

um. why is this a surprise?

a) he did get a preview of the book to give quotes and stuff.

b) he actually likes *you* personally (and while I know you two aren't CLOSE or anything, if you were at a cocktail party you would each wander over to chat with the other).

silly girl. Of COURSE he is going to twitter about you and will likely be talking about you and your book in his blog as well.

that said... YAY!

Mmm - always the reasonable one ;> One of your many wonderful traits!

I wish Neil would twitter about some of my ventures, but I've noticed he tends to pay attention more if you are female - so I know he'll twitter about my next venture that I cannot talk about.

What blurb did they use? We haven't seen anything so we're curious how it's being presented.

Ok, honey. *breathe* Neil Gaiman is just an ordinary guy, with an un-ordinary job, dating an ordinary girl with an un-ordinary job.

Know what you are? Yep. You're one of them. Think about it.

Someone is going to meet you on your book tour and go "SQUEE I MET THE LADY OF THE MANNERS ZOMG."

Its not hard to have that done.

Oh Yay, you did see that- I was pretty sure I wouldn't be the only one sending you incoherent, flail-y hands comments about it.

From: [identity profile] maudelynn.livejournal.com

I was happy to see that :) He has so many followers that it is a big bit of free promotion! YAY!
I was surprised to see he wasn't following you, but let him know and he corrected it :P

Thank you for letting him know! I don't think he realized that CupcakeGoth was me. :-)

From: [identity profile] maudelynn.livejournal.com

It looks like a few other people let him know, as well :)
YAY!!

For some reason I have it stuck in my head you were a wrangler for him at one of the Northwest conventions. We sat down to eat and he took a table next to us and I could have sworn that was you or another well dressed Goth icon.
I'm I just remembering wrong?

Oh good. She was an excellent VIP assistant.
When the signing line was SO long for Brian Froud the poor man had 3 people in his line. Someone was kind enough to let me go get a book signed by Neil Gaiman and get back in line. He looked so alone so we visited for a bit and he complimented my hat. Later he came by our booth and bought a hat! I was so relived he was a nice AND talented person. :0 )

Well, let me put it this way.

YAHOOOOOO!!!

Next up? You getting to be on a panel at a Convention with him, and other people such as him. You know it's coming... >:)

Speaking of your fame, I had a woman walk up to my table at the Fremont Fair yesterday, pick up this parasol (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17945974), and tell me she knew of this lovely lady who would love it, because it's "her" colors.
