On the one hand, I would love to see Stevie Nicks in concert.

On the other hand, I am not enough of a fan of hers* to pay a minimum of $135 + Ticketmaster/Live Nation/whatever ticket agency handling fees. I can count on ONE HAND the artists I would be willing to pay that much money to see, and she's not on that list.

*I'll be totally honest: while I admire the hell out of her, and I like a bunch of her music, I am much more a fan of her fashion than her voice.

FUCKING HELL, that is an INSANE amount to charge for tickets to a single show, unless it comes with dinner and champagne and a complimentary masseuse to provide soothing shoulder-rubs.

I think the only artists that I'd pay that much to see would require time travel, because I'd want to see them at their prime.

But, yeah. It would be great to see her, but that ticket price is ridiculous.

I know I'm utterly spoiled about concerts, because I was able to see some of the greats multiple times. Hell, I saw David Bowie four times. And I'll admit, he was a performer I would have been willing to pay that sort of ticket price for. I didn't have to, thank goodness, because I think these sorts of prices have only become the norm for Big Name Acts over the past few years.

Nowadays? Tom Waits, Kate Bush, and MCR. That's pretty much it. Maybe The Cure, if they played a Seattle date that wasn't a festival. But really, I can't think of anyone else.

Yup.

My 'I will pay $$$$$' list is: Rush and Midnight Oil. Rush stopped touring, and Midnight Oil haven't technically reformed yet. So I'm safe!

Ugh. That is crazy-pants. I'll stick with seeing Garbage and hitting VooDoo. At least for that one I get a trip to New Orleans out of it.

there are very few artist I am interested in seeing live in the first place, let along those whom I think would be worth even half that cost. Good lord.

Love Stevie but her voice isn't the same now. I would have loved to have seen her 20 years ago.

She's a great song stylist, and I love her fashion, but I've never thought her voice was all that, and I wish she'd learn to enunciate.

Luckily, I got to see all the shows I would have paid that much for, for a lot less back in the day. And, most of those artists are dead now. :-(
