The Yard Sale O' Doooooooom! went well. I sold a bunch of clothes I didn't want any more, so I can now go buy new exciting clothes. Yes, this is Circle of Life for my closets.

What I really really want is more stretch velvet dresses. You would think that a basic princess-seamed dress in a non-crushed stretch velvet would be easy to find. You would be wrong. I have this feeling I'm going to be ordering them from the WonderSeamstress.

No news on the job hunt. My recruiter isn't turning up much. On the one hand, I don't want to go back to work just yet; on the other hand, I keep having minor twitches of fear that when I DO want to go back to work, there still won't be any jobs around.

I picked up the new issue of Gothic Beauty magazine, and discovered that the article on gothic weddings mentions the Gothic Miss Manners website! Good heavens. I guess it's time to update things there.

Excellence on the yard sale! I do them periodically and as my friend Joyce McGuire once put it "When Deb has a sidewalk sale, half a dozen pairs of Maud Frizon heels hit the pavement."

Was the weather good for the sale? A sure sign it was Meant To Be.

Well, I just got my first call in a while.

Soooooooooo.

You'll probably get one soon, too.

Also, I have lemon curd. And clotted cream.

Will make scones and bring?

yesyesyes.

Clotted cream ... and I'll cheerfully blow the diet for scones.

I wore the red jacket with formal black tie that evening. Two people asked me to park their car, Lauren said I looked like a movie usher, and Grace said I looked like a lion tamer.

Bah.

But I still looked good. :-)

If it's any help, I've never had any trouble finding princess-seamed stretch velvet dresses on Ebay for plenty cheap.

hmmm. I only seem to find a few of them, and they're generally crushed or panne velvet. Which is not what I want, drat it all.

Yay closet space and cash! Did you sell the short blue velvet skirt? That's the item for which my heart bleeds the most.

The blue skirt went to (IIRC) Girlgoth. Sorry sweetie!
