Some things never change: my co-workers are confused because I'm not wearing a hat. They are astonished to discover I am shorter than they suspected.

I don't know why people think I'm so much taller than I really am, but it always amuses me.

I get the same thing, and I don't even wear top hats 90% of the time. I've been told it has to do with attitude. Our personalities are apparently very tall.

I noticed in the SCA that wearing armor adds to one's social height. Perhaps fangs, skulls, and punitive jewelry are similarly elevating?
