Having friends who are reading the Parasol Protectorate series tell me that they automatically picture me as Alexia Tarabotti. (I suspect I'm more of a combination of Alexia and Ivy, but hey. These same friends have said that they have no problem picturing The Husband as Conall, which makes me laugh and laugh. But they're not wrong, either.
Also, let's face it; the StuntHusband has been turning himself into Lord Akeldama for years.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh, dear God! Yes, well, I'll allow that you may be more of an Alexia/BookOneIvy* hybrid, since Alexia seems inadequately interested in her apparel, and I frequently find myself charmed by the descriptions of Ivy's hats. But I confess, I never thought of Peeves as Conall.
Now, though....
...oh, dear God.
I am UNSPEAKABLY charmed by the thought of The StuntHusband as Lord Akeldama. He very richly deserves a swarm of nattily clad young noblemen darting around catering to his every whim.
(*Please tell me that in Book 3, Carriger stops writing Ivy as a badly dressed Mrs Bennet, and goes back to writing her as Charlotte Lucas with a hat fetish?)

Or at least...well, actually, I suppose it might not be jarring for you, as you are yourself a Colonial. But I found it very strange and distracting, listening to people who very clearly ARE NOT British performing the various roles. Conall in particular is most emphatically not even a little bit Scottish, but all of them sound like Americans pretending to be on Masterpiece Theatre, which absolutely wrecked my suspension of disbelief and enjoyment of the characters.
However, YMMV.

Yes, Peeves as Conall. It strangely makes sense.
