M.S. Corley drew new covers for Harry Potter, Series of Unfortunate Events, and the Spiderwick Chronicles. They're pretty. http://mscorley.blogspot.com/2009/02/harry-potter-redesign.html
Lurker chiming in here. It's not shiny, but it is kinda cool: free HP Lovecraft podcast located at http://cthulhupodcast.blogspot.com/. It cheers me up when I'm feeling blue or bored. I recommend you start at the beginning.
To start - I posted about needing this book (http://www.amazon.com/Creepy-Cute-Crochet-Zombies-Ninjas/dp/1594742324/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236061669&sr=1-6) (clicky link) for my upcoming b-day and if I get it I would totally make you some little crocheted creepies for your desk!
And your GCS article was really well done I think and I have pimped it on my journal - though I suspect all the Goth inclined on my f-list already know about it. :)
As you are attending one Vampire Ball, perhaps you would like to know of other (non-local) ones? This group (http://www.peers.org/events.html) (clicky-link!) in San Francisco does various themed balls throughout the year, with a Bal des Vampires every November (and actually, a Mardi Gras des Vampires in 2/10).
Well, have you heard of the new goth fashion blog, Haute Macabre (http://hautemacabre.wordpress.com/)? Very fun to go through for ideas and to just drool over.
Also, of a less fashion nature, but still incredibly fun and time wasting, try the flash game Pandemic 2 (http://www.crazymonkeygames.com/Pandemic-2.html). You become either a virus, parasite or bacteria and try to kill all of humanity. It's actually deeply addicting and fun. Watch out for Madagascar. They shut down their borders if someone in Canada sneezes.

it's that one lousy seaport they have, unless you have a shipping route going directly there, there's no chance.
