Dear Powers That Be, if you could somehow manage to make either this black-on-black stripy top hat or this black and dark red stripy top hat (clicky-links!) belong to me, that would be WONDERFUL. Please note that they are full-sized top hats, and therefore the Stroppy One has no reason to sigh, roll his eyes, and say "More mini top hats, Jilli? Really?" I covet both of those hats desperately. And you must admit, a stripy top hat is FAR more practical for me than a tiny tricorn with a pirate ship on it.

Boots! I didn't have my favorite black lace-up granny boots for a while, as they were having the soles and heels rebuilt by my mad cobbler. So I needed functional, yet cute boots. A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] ashbet linked to the Stark style boots by Jump; they were slightly taller than ankle boots, zipped up the sides, had cute button details, and had a rubber wedge heel. I liked them, but not enough to pay over $100 for them on Zappos. Then I went and looked on Amazon (clicky-link!), and discovered that certain colors/sizes of that style were on sale for under $40! Well then. So I got them, and marveled at the comfortable-ness of them. Plus, super-cute!

I decided to look at what other styles the Jump brand offered, and discovered the Bjork boots (clicky-link). Flat, with a rubber traction sole, bigger button details on the side, and oooh, the same sort of discount for certain colors/sizes! Yes, you guessed it, I got them too. Both styles work very well with my Victorian Gothic/Steampunk/Pirate-y wardrobe, and good lord, comfy! Soooo comfy!

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the discounting of the various Jump brand boots. Some sizes and colors are full-price. Sometimes none of them are discounted, and then a few days later they are. But if you're looking for new boots (and are willing to purchase them online), I recommend checking Amazon every week or so to see what the current prices are.

I now no longer need to purchase any more boots. No, I do not. And I'm contemplating selling off some boots that aren't quite what I wanted. Because I need to finance taking the purple pair of Bjork boots to the mad cobbler to have them dyed a more wine shade, and having the white granny boots that I found dyed cupcake pink. (Oh yes. I am going to have pink boots.)

But I DO need more top hats. Yes. There is no question of that.

wow, 30 some odd bucks, I snagged the graphite bjork ones.

Pretty things!

I love that red and black top hat.

I was browsing the interwebs. These Cotton Candy wingtips (http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/Melissa+Wingtips+in+Cotton+Candy) reminded me of you.

Great boots, thanks for the link. :) The ones I like are a bit more than I'm willing to spend at the moment, so I'll keep an eye on them.

OK - I like the Bjork boots! I have no reason for me to buy more boots right now, but I'd wear those!

I really like the red and black top hat.

I wish I could try those Jump boots on some place. Whether or not I wear 10 or 10-W really depends on the style and there's really no way to be sure without trying them on. May be worth the risk for that price though...for the Stark style I mean...

I ordered the first stripy top hat a couple of months ago, I can't wait for it to arrive! :D

Mysteriously boots have jumped (HAH) into my shopping cart.

From: [identity profile] schwarze-krahe.livejournal.com

my feet are too big to get the cheep price, but I will put them on my wish list in hopes they go down. Also are you going to re club sat?

From: [identity profile] schwarze-krahe.livejournal.com

Wonderful. Doug is nice enough to let me stay over on sat so I will see you there. I need a good night of dancing.

From: [identity profile] icprncs.livejournal.com

Yeah, I ordered the black patent and the purple. :P I also got a pair of black Starks (which when I first looked at them were full price but half an hour later were at the full discount!), but they're not the size I normally get in boots, so they might not work. But what the hell. Because you might not need more boots, but apparently I did. ;)

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

With the Starks, I have a pair in 8 AND in 8.5. (I had ordered the 8s for [livejournal.com profile] theda, and they turned out not to fit her.) I tried them on for a lark, and discovered that while they were more snug than my 8.5s, they still were completely comfortable. So who knows, the Starks may fit you!

From: [identity profile] schwarze-krahe.livejournal.com

Which ones did you get? The 8/8.5 in black are either 95 or 120 something. :( maybe the price went up again.

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

I got them in black, and at the time they were under $40. That's why I recommend checking the price a couple of times, because it mysteriously fluctuates.

MAC Verushka lipstick for sale

http://community.livejournal.com/macsaleswap/5949723.html?style=mine#cutid1

Unless you're a member of the community you'll have to PM her directly, I guess...

Re: MAC Verushka lipstick for sale

Hmmm, I just checked her LJ, and I don't see Verushka listed anywhere on there.

Oh, I'm sure that comm will be dangerous. But since there's actually very few MAC things that I omg need right now!, I should be okay. (I can hear you laughing at me, stop it.) ;)

From: [identity profile] mearagrrl.livejournal.com

I like the boots, but what I really need are BROWN ones! I wish the Bjork ones came in a nice dark brown...sigh. I suppose it's time to go shopping...

From: [identity profile] alexiarnps.livejournal.com

Duuuuude.

Boots!

O.o

Do you get a discount and free shipping, or just free shipping? It looks like it's part of the supersaver shipping thing, but if you also get a discount I might have to slip you some cash...

Luckily for both of us, you don't belong to the Size Eleven Sisterhood.

I'm so glad you posted a boots entry, because just yesterday I was looking for a pair of those sorta-Victorian, sorta-granny, sorta-witchy boots we talked about a year or so ago. Does that ring a bell? I think you also got them on Amazon.

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Ah, the Victorian boots by Oak Tree Farms? You *can* get them on Amazon, but Old Mill Mercantile (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Victorian-old-West-western-granny-style-boots-8-5_W0QQitemZ380095402538QQihZ025QQcategoryZ63889QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262) on eBay has better prices.

Those are my beloved boots that were off with my mad cobbler. But now they're back and as good as new! I'm probably going to wear them tomorrow, actually.

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Yes, very true to size. And oh, comfy! So comfy! And with good care, will last forever.

From: [identity profile] shoindiematrix.livejournal.com

I love boots so very much. I'm quite happy to be in possession of a few, but I definitely want to switch to buckle boots instead of lace ups. They're so hard to deal with once calf high.

From: [identity profile] fiorituranotte.livejournal.com

I love both top hats, I think you might need both. I also love the boots you bought.
