I am thoroughly geeked that there's a band calling itself Saviour Machine since that's one of the tracks on The Man Who Sold The World. Oh, Bowie.

I wish you could have been at Arisia (local SF con) this past weekend, even if you do live on the other side of the country. We had a steampunk ball! And I would have loved to see what you'd have worn to it. And the parties.

New-to-me dress -- my friend's roommate works at a consignment store, and if the offerings aren't sufficiently high-end designer to sell, the staff gets to take their pick, and so my friend has access to lots of pretty clothes, and knows what I like (the green skirt in my icon? Came from her closet when she no longer wanted it) so when she saw a black ballgown with a slight train and a corset-styled velvet bodice, IN MY SIZE, she let me know she had it for me!

I like free clothes, I do.
