I pretty much worked from home for most of December. This meant that my sleep schedule slid back to it's natural setting: falling asleep around 3AM (or later), getting up around 11AM. So this week of catching the bus to the office? Very very tiring. I hope my ability to fall asleep at a "reasonable" time improves VERY SOON.

Concrete Blonde, "Bloodletting," although it's probably too obvious.no, you already listed that."The Sharpest Lives" feels vampire-ish to me.
"Pleasure Victim," Berlin
"Fade to Grey," Visage
I'll probably think of others.

stalkingreading your journal for awhile and always meant to say hi.As for songs, I've always associated In Your Room by Depeche Mode with vampires for some reason. Thanks for posting your list, there are a lot of songs on there that I've forgotten about.
*off to listen*

You're the second person to suggest In Your Room by Depeche Mode. I'm going to have to give it another listen.

Song to the Siren - This Mortal Coil
This is all kind of random. Of course, now I want to make a spooky playlist. Currently, I have songs tagged by genre & hit 'shuffle' :-)
From:
Re: ymmv
I do the genre shuffle too. But my vampire playlist is different in tone than the Spooky! playlist. Because I'm odd that way. :-)

And despite the weirdness of it, I always associated 3 Doors Down "Kryptonite" with Angel, so ergo, it has a vampire connotation for me.
Yeah, yeah, I know, but clearly, my mind works in a weird way too.

I can't explain some of these - they just are. There are likely more but this is what I could come up with for now:
Kill with me tonight - The Devlins
The Hand That Feeds - NIN
Slither Thing - Collide
Children of the Night - Juno Reactor
Silence - Delerium
Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple
Room a Thousand Years Wide - Soundgarden
Haunted By The Thought Of YOu - Jilly Tracy

stalkerdomlurkdom because I can't resist after at least two others have mentioned Depeche Mode's 'In Your Room' as a possibility. I'm with them! :) While I don't exactly have a vampire playlist on my iTunes, I do have one I call 'October' and listen to it throughout the autumn. In fact, it's mostly from a mixed tape I made back in 1988 (and now I feel old) and kept adding to it year after year.I don't know that any of them are what you're looking for--I understand when you say that a track might not feel like vampire music to you. There are a lot of songs out there that one would think I'd've added to my playlist, but they don't evoke the right mood or frame of mind the other songs do. It's sort of like, I'll know the right song when I hear it. (I've also managed to take it a step further because the songs have to be in a specific order, too!)
My playlist as it stands at the moment:
1. Libera Me - Interview With a Vampire ST
2.
Moon Over Bourbon Street - Sting3. Fascination Street [Extended Mix] - The Cure
4. Fabienne - The Mission
5. Lucretia, My Reflection - Sister of Mercy
6. Blind Sublime - Peter Murphy
7. Afterhours - Sisters of Mercy
8. Moonchild [longevity] - Fields of the Nephilim
9. If I Was Your Vampire - Marilyn Manson
10. Cold - Static X from the Queen of the Damned ST
11.
Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) - Concrete Blond12. Dragula - Rob Zombie
13. Toccata & Fugue in D Minor - Bach (I know! I know! Don't EVEN laugh at how trite/cliche that is.)
14.
Bela Lugosi's Dead (9:34 version) - Bauhaus15. Scare Crow - Ministry
16. In Your Room - Depeche Mode
17.
Burn - The Cure from The Crow ST18. Last Exit For the Lost - Fields of the Nephilim
The fact that there are only three repeats with your list and mine leads me to believe these aren't quite what you're looking for, but, if for any reason you'd like any of these songs and don't have access to them, I'd be happy to upload them for you.
(Wow, I've certainly made up for being a lurker. Long comment is loooong!)

I am a vampire - Vast (it's off of his April album)
Anything by Voltaire about vampires I also like, because it's often cheeky ;]
Apocalyptica - Bittersweet, because Ville Valo's guest singing is very pretty, deep, and vampiric in the song (I don't usually like his stuff).
Anything slightly campy but lovely like Malice Mizer - Klaha era.
I really blanked out otherwise, but there are -so many- songs ...

Awakening, The Damning Well
Suicide Note, Johnette Napolitano
Temptation Waits, Garbage
Any or all of which I can send you, if you like.

gothy vampire-y ideas
Brian Eno - Cool World Soundtrack - "Under"
Dead Can Dance does a version of "I Am Stretched On Your Grave" that's quite nice. I think it's off Towards The Within
Far too much by Faith and the Muse. Most particularly off Evidence of Heaven, but it's an obvious theme. (Well, "gother than thou" is probably a more accurate reading of their theme, but hey...)
Maybe not vampiresque, but distantly related undead... Kristen Hersh (with Michael Stipe), "Your Ghost".
There's got to be something (or many somethings) by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds that fits. "The Weeping Song" is close, but not quite.
While I agree that This Mortal Coil's "Song to the Siren" doesn't particularly resonate with vampires with me, I do suggest: "Inch Blue" / "I Want To Live" off filigree & shadow, and the title track off blood.
Alphaville ... ok, quit laughing already... "For A Million" off The Breathtaking Blue
I'll always associate P. J. Harvey's "Down By The Water" (off To Bring You My Love) with the movie version of Interview with the Vampire.
The antagonist in the movie City of Children is essentially a vampire of dreams; the soundtrack reflects this (and it's more yummy stuff by Angelo Badalamenti (sp?)).
A few of the tracks by Belly might almost fit: "Angel", "Someone to Die for", "Low Red Moon" (all off Star); "Silverfish", "Now They'll Sleep" (both off King).
Black Tape for a Blue Girl. I'm sure they have something appropriate, but I really don't have the patience for them anymore. If you want to wade through 15 hours of swirly navel-gazing ethereal goth doom... (Although Audra does has a droll track "Knock Three Times" on the Halo Star supergroup / compilation album, under the BTfaBG name.)
There's a lovely version of (deep breath) "In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated" (whew!) by Chandeen; not directly vampiric, but it's a lovely and moody song done exceptionally well. (Originally by Dead Can Dance, if the pretentiousness of the title didn't give it away.)
"Under the Milky Way" and "Reptile" off Starfish by The Church. Not sure I can really pass these off as vampiric, but again, excellent mood setters.
More mood setters: Clan of Xymox's Medusa. Either of the two albums by Tarnation (yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as "goth country").
Ok, enough for now. Let me know if any of these are on-target. Quite a few have samples on Amazon; if you can't find them elsewhere, let me know -- almost everything I mentioned above is in my collection.

Vampire songs, yay!
Bloody Sunrise - Neil Gaiman (it's written by him, it's got a female singer, very Tori Amos)
Vampires - The Umbrellas
You Bleed Me (909th Dry Mix) - Suspiria
The Wrong Way - Abney Park
Fever - Grey Ghost
Pretty People Never Lie, Vampires Never Really Die - I Am Ghost
Days of the Pheonix - AFI
Sacrifice Theory - AFI
Silver and Cold - AFI
Love Like Winter - AFI
Date With A Vampire - The Screaming Tribesmen
Lights - The Editors (always reminds me of a very penitent Louis-esque vampire)
Do Not Go Quietly Unto Your Grave - Morphine
The Happy Goth - The Divine Comedy
On My Tongue - Frank the Baptist
Laughing Bloody Murder - Cinema Strange
Knock Three Times - Black Tape for a Blue Girl
Tear You Apart - She Wants Revenge
Red Flags and Long Nights - She Wants Revenge
Ghost Under Rocks - Ra Ra Riot
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters
I can probably think of a whole hell of a lot more, but this is a whole lot. Didn't mean to go overboard. :D

When I was a kid, I always associated "Hot in the City" by Billy Idol with vampires.
I'd echo Depeche Mode with either "In your Room" or "Waiting for the Night"
Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegroove from Dead Can Dance
Moon Over Bourbon Street by Sting
The Passenger by Michael Hutchence (INXS)
From:
My shot at vampire music (don't laugh)
PJ Harvey- My Beautiful Leah, The Garden, Catherine, and Electric Light (just to name a few, really her entire "Is This Desire" album is dark and rather creepy)
Smashing Pumpkins- Eye and Ava Adore
Alanis Morissette- Uninvited
Joydrop- Beautiful Like Me (maybe?)
The Pixies- Is She Weird and maybe even Cactus
Snake River Conspiracy- Lovesong (their cover is way creepier than the original, although they may be too much industrial for this mix)
If you want to go the instrumental route there's a few more I could recommend, but so far it looks like all your songs have lyrics so...
*disclaimer! I R NOT GOTH!
