Thing the first: Wow, I am hungry. Which is ridiculous, because I had my usual breakfast this morning. But I feel hungry enough to make me also feel a touch queasy. Dear Stomach, this is Not On. Also, I am craving a bagel with cream cheese and lox, and there is *nowhere* near the office that I can get such a thing. Hmmph. I hope the fig cereal bar I'm about to nibble on makes me feel better.

Thing the second: Remember my saying that I probably wasn't going to be purchasing any clothing for a while? (You know, in the previous LJ post?) The wonderful Laura at Retroscope Fashions posted preview photos of two new jackets on Steamfashion (clicky-link!) Why yes, I want the black & grey & white pinstriped Victorian-esque jacket, how clever of you to have guessed.

Thing the third: Lightboxes! Blue LED ones! They really work! We recently got one, and I've been using it for about 20 minutes in the mornings while doing my makeup. I must admit, I feel more awake for using it. Yes, the irony of me, a nocturnal-type gothy person who reads a lot of vampire books, benefiting from a lightbox is not lost on me. Stop giggling.

Thing the fourth:

  • Black glittery pointy-toe flats.

  • B&W wide-stripe tights, worn under black floral lace stockings.

  • Knee-length flouncy black skirt with ruffled hem (yes, I made it a few weeks ago), worn over pink & black petticoats.

  • Black high-collared blouse with a lace yoke.

  • Black with white pinstripes jacket, with a black velvet collar and skull buttons. (Made by Tripp, purchased from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] genniferholland, and then tailored and cropped by me to make it waist-length and more fitted.)

  • Jewelry: The usual collection of rings, my Calico Jack perfume locket (worn under the blouse), and a skull-decorated silver heart pendant tied around my neck on a pink satin bow.

  • Hair and makeup: Hair pulled back into a high ponytail, secured with lace-festooned hair ties, and a pink & black flower clip that [livejournal.com profile] javagoth made for me. YSL Touch Eclat concealer under my eyes, a light dusting of Aromaleigh "glissade" and High-Resolution finishing powder, Aromaleigh eye shadows in "morbid curiosity" (russet/indigo duochrome), "angel wing" (opalescent pink/white), and "twinkle" (pale sparkly pink), black liquid liner on the top lid, mascara, and Besame "Noir Red" lipstick.

Thing the fifth: I don't wanna go to my meetings today. For no particular reason, I just don't wanna.

Yes, but its a blue ghastly light that makes skin a deathly pallor so its still Goth. :0 ) I have mine eye level on the desk under the monitor while typing and it casts a spooky blue light in the hallway at night. Hubby is amused by it.

Lightbox?

Details? I've known for a while I should get one, and my insurance would cover it if I can get a technical recommendation...:)

Re: Lightbox?

We got this one from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JPJM5K

I've been very pleased with it so far.

You sound absolutely gorgeous today!
I'm glad that you tailored the jacket and are wearing it!

I still have that headdress for you, and some Japanese GLB's if you want them. I keep bringing the headdress to Vogue night, but I never see you. :(

Yay! I have another one for you too - as a congrats on getting your book done prezzie. :D

Guh! That jacket is gorgeous and definitely worth making an exception to your new rule.

Where do you get your pointed toe flats? I can only wear flats and I love pointed toe ones.

I really should look into getting a light box.

Well, if by some wild chance you can make it to West Seattle (I don't know where you work except for a general 'seattle', so), there's a little bagel shop on the corner of Admiral and California that does a spectacular lox-bagel sandwich for surprisingly little.

where did you get your blue LED lightbox? I am always curious about the newest advances in lightboxes. I now have to use one year-round due to my sleep-phase thingamajig. :/

From Amazon.com. It was a special gold-box deal a few weeks ago. It was this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JPJM5K

I know you are on a no new purchases diet right now, but I had to share this link with you.

ONe can never have enough shoes:

http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes?products=999&page=1

There are two or three pairs I'm thinking of ordering -- I can get all three for the price of one pair of 'vogs... um... yeah, that is the justification....

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Oh goodness. these (http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/The+Risque+Black+Boot) are very pretty. I am saved from myself by the heel being too tall for me.

(Ha! On the page for those boots, the "We also recommend" section shows a military jacket (http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Outerwear/Hit+Parade+Jacket) that is suspiciously like ones already in my closet ...)

**giggles**

Those boots are what made me run right over to your blog! I thought it appropriate you has a new SFD post for me to post that link to :)

I was also eyeing these shoes:
http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/The+Wine+Bar+Brogues

and these:
http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/Peek+A+Booties

and this dress (luckily it does not come in my size, or it would have been ordered in a flash I think):

Yes, some day the power of the clicky-link will be mine......

I know this post is several weeks old, but I just wanted to tell you thanks for making me realise a lightbox might be helpful to me, too.

Got an LED lightbox from LiteBook. It's lightweight, rechargeable, bright as heck, and comes with a carrying case & four international plug thingies so you can take it on trips to reset yourself. weighs less than a pound and it freakin' rocks. :>

so, yeah, thanks.
