Liveblogging the Sisters of Mercy show

The sound is vastly better this time -we can actually tell what songs are being performed! The stage, however, is still a wall of back-lit fog. I can just make out Andrew Eldritch's bald head swaying behind the mic stand.

I want to SO be there. Stupid f-ing job that has me working weekends ATM. Because of this I didn't buy tickets. THEN I have a fmaily emergency that forces me to rearrange my schedule and I get the day off at the last minute. ARGH.

Tom and I went to the DC show at the 930 club here back on the 5th November. Stage was a wall of fog here, too, and A. Eldritch, when visible through said fog, blinded us all with his shirt, which was a vivid shade of day-glo chartreuse. They sounded great, though! :D

Who opened for them out there? We had Hypernova out here, who were kinda good. I added them on my last.fm library.

The fog seems to be a tradition..sadly. I missed this show because I was so disappointed when they came to Seattle last time. It's good to hear they were much better.

Glad that they're getting better sound.

I saw them a few years back in San Diego (at House of Blues, IIRC), and it was horrible. On top of the lousy sound, Mr. Eldritch was in full "We're not a goth band, we're a rock band. And to prove it, we won't play any of our hits." mode. Gah.

As I recall, they couldn't have gotten much worse than the last show, so I am not surprised they are better for this one. It doesn't sound like they were a LOT better to see though. :/

Wall-o-fog in Worcester on 11/1, too. At least it was CO2 fog and not awful oil-fog fog-juice -- that stuff is NASTY.

I had front center barricade and was a very, very happy girl. And I got a setlist!
