I keep looking at stuff (in the black & grey stripe) from the Lip Service "Psycho Circus III" line. I'm not at all sure if the things I'm looking at would work on me, but I keep looking at them.

Bat Seducer Jacket (clicky-link!)

Fire Dancer Vest (clicky-link!)

Now keep in mind, I would wear either of those items OVER a high-collared lacey blouse, and with petticoat-fluffed skirts. It would be stripey and circus-y AND quasi-Victorian. So, not like how they're shown in the catalog, really.

Yeah, they do kinda shout your name.

Check Redemption Klothing's site for them; Greyson tends to have better prices than the LS site.

Jola was wearing them this weekend, and they were AWESOME:

I really like the jacket -- if I were convinced that an XXL would fit me, *I'd* totally wear it, FWIW!

No? But ... the vest works in my head. I can picture the outfit.

(Heeeey, nice jacket in your icon! ::grin::)

Hm, maybe if I knew more about the exact pieces you planned to pair it with, I'd feel better, but that vest is striking me as a Not Very Versatile item, and thus to be avoided.

and it is ENTIRELY YOUR DOING that I have the jacket in my icon. I would not have known of its EXISTENCE but for you. And it is my best favoritest piece of clothing EVER and I get compliments every time I wear it, no matter what I wear it with, so yay!

No. Maybe if you modified the collar so it was more like the jacket, but the way it's cut it would not work on you or with your wardrobe.

I agree with another poster that the jacket could work but the vest probably wouldn't do so well. I think it the collar part on it would be especially troublesome...

Small. I tried on the Bat Seducer jacket in size L when I was in a shop in Montreal. No dice. I cry that the XXL size in black/silver is out of stock.

Yes, if it weren't for this wedding, I might have bought the entire line! Love it!

But.... do you have a Forever 21 and/or Charlotte Russo where you live? Charlotte Russo has black and silver striped "jeans" that are more like thick leggings really because they are super skinny tight. But considering I was thinking of paying $60+ for Lippy's version, not bad, there's are $30. Stripes are thinner.

But the real find is at Forever 21, if you've got one, go NOW. I was out hunting for last minute wedding shoes and saw the jacket and had to have it. It is not on the website anywhere, I even searched by the item number and nothing. You can find this jacket (http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=outwr%5Fblazers&product%5Fid=2050631865&Page=1), but that one is not as cool as the one I bought. It's black and cream striped but the sleeves are long and the upper collar is solid black, it's the quasi double breasted with an inverted V cut at the bottom. Wait..... I'll take photo.......

Forever Hell, I mean 21, is where I found my awesome striped jeans that I just wore to C14 and nearly had some woman tear them off of me. Normally I might hide this awesome little find and reveal it after the stores had sold out, haha, but you're my fellow striped sister, how can I deny someone as awesome as you?

::flails incoherently, makes grabby hands at the monitor::

Ohgodohgod. I wonder if it will fit over my bust. That's it, must go to a mall TONIGHT. Thank you for sharing the secret with me!

From: [identity profile] acid-poptart.livejournal.com

Hee hee, I knew you would like! Only $30!!!! Shockingly, the small fits my bust... it's a tight fit, but I hated how long the sleeves were on me with the medium. Good luck girlie! You need this jacket! If I wasn't freakin' out so much over the wedding in a few days, I'd be contemplated the many ways to wear this right now!

Oh, and of course you know my wedding dress is striped? Of course. ;)

that cut, especially for the lipservice line, and your bustline... yeah, I am thinking that it would not be a good match.

The jacket is a tight fit and the vest too..

I do not know how it work over things.I had the same thought when I first saw them and then when I got to see them in person I do not think it would work over anything too thick. You could wear a thin fabric top under the bat seducer jacket but its made to fit like a glove.

I did not order the line at all as it seemed like the stripes would wear after a bit, there panted on the fabric not woven in to it , I tend to like to sell things that people will be happy with for a long time..

Just my two bits..

BTW when is the vamp ball down by you we would like to know so we can plan to go this time around.

Re: Hi,

Oh, thank you for the lovely note! The charming little girl in a couple of my photos isn't my daughter, but the daughter of a very dear friend. (I'm her honorary auntie and fairy gothmother.)

ooooh, BJDs. Several of my friends collect them, and I love looking at photos of them. I just have too many other hobbies that take up my time and money to delve into the BJD world. But I'll have to take a look at your rag dolls!
