vanity and self-image monsters

I've realized that I want a photo shoot. I want someone to take pictures of me in my pretty clothes, with fun hats and/or wacky hair. However, hard on the heels of that realization is the chorus of self-image demons saying "But you hardly ever look good in photos. You always get self-conscious and make unflattering facial expressions right when the photo is taken. Why bother, you'll look horrible.

The thing is, I DO get self-conscious, and it shows in a whole bunch of the photos taken of me at events over the last few years. It doesn't make me particularly happy, but it's true.

(Yes, Stax my dove, I know we still need to figure out when you're going to take pictures of me. I haven't forgotten.)

I want pictures. I want pictures taken of me where I'll look good. I want pictures taken by someone who won't spend two minutes BEFORE taking the picture saying things like "No, you're making a face. Hmmm, that doesn't look right. Stop making a face. Wait ... no", because that makes me even MORE self-conscious and awkward.

So um, yeah. Pictures.

sigh

Obviously, I'm having a bit of a self-image and self-confidence slump. Maybe the exercising every weekday morning (which I've done for 4 days now) will improve things.

Stax is the good doctor. If she can make me look good when I'm nervous as a whore in church, she can handle the much easier task of making you look nibblable.

I have faith that I can make you look fabulous, and photoshop when that fails. ;)

and, indeed, you *have* lost weight. In your face and in your waist and in your legs as well. It shows in the photos I have of you (which I need to *GET* to you still... *sigh*). The photos from my party just *look* fabulous. no editing required.

I never say "stop making a face" I say things like "smile... a little more... more like mona lisa... think an evil thought...MONSTERS..." Generally if I want a really good happy face I make my models laugh. That works really well. ;)

and ya know.. it's all digital so I can delete the yucky ones and we can all pretend they never exisited in the first place. ;)

But you *do* have some time.. I am not even scheduling another shoot for at least 2 weeks and the next one I do will be of my little brother the rabbit. (since I have been ill and had to postpone on him *twice* OY!) But we can schedule for after that baby. :)
