When I speak longingly of wanting to go to a picnic, yes, I DO envision something like this. (Clicky-link of gorgeousness and decadence!)

::sighs longingly, swoons just a bit::

I like the people there that aren't wearing creepy contact lenses, nor look like they got lost trying to find the underground Slovenian metal festival.

There is a picnic and it's the same theme...

I think I recognized some ppl. And aside from the uber-gothiness, that very much reminds me of our Lumieres picnics. Well, we need more boys-who-dress-up, but who doesn't?

(Sooooo going to rip off that black wig w/purple flowers idea now! I have all the stuff in my Stash already.)

From: [identity profile] bork.livejournal.com

I could see you in that, definitely - and it will be stunning!

That's what those photos reminded me of! I love the photos from your Lumieres picnics, and I'm rather jealous of you having like something like that to attend.

(Yeah yeah, I know, I need to start planning events ...)

Sometimes we only have 6 ppl bec. it's so hard to pin down dates when more folks are available. But still, a few ladies in panniers & lace & wigs, drinking champagne, & strolling thru a cemetery (that's always the best place for picnics, goth or not!), oh so worth it :-)

gorgeousness and decadence hardly begins to describe it!

how amazing and lovely!

::sighing::

1. Just finished watching Velvet Goldmine (againagainagain), so that this photoset has only added to that "want to dress up and act That Way!" vibe.

2. Though I rarely miss the Uber Goth me, and the dressing up I want isn't necessarily that, this photoset did at least make me think rather fondly of "her" and want an additional dress up opportunity to pull out some of the old looks. (Not that it was really dress up then, but I think that going Uber Goth would be now, as that facet of me is much more minor...which is also why it would have to be an additional dressing up to the one in #1)

Rambling and babbling....that's me :)

I just want more opportunities for Dressing Up. (Tho' I of course want to see you in Uber Goth again, because I have very fond memories of that.)

From: [identity profile] theicequeen.livejournal.com

I'd dress up just for you, you know. Especially if there were going to be pictures taken. I'd even let you make requests and such. Feel my loooooove!

From: [identity profile] mahariel.livejournal.com

Well, since a fancy dress ball doesn't seem to be in the cards, maybe we should look into organizing a fancy dress picnic. At least the venue wouldn't be as much of a headache.

Such gorgeous clothes!

I need to find an excuse to Dress Up.

From: [identity profile] reddheart.livejournal.com

I'll take that for my day-afterwedding picnic for 50, Miss Cupcake!

From: [identity profile] sistawendy.livejournal.com

I'm right there with you. It'd take me a year and a half of sewing to get ready.

From: [identity profile] theda-bara.livejournal.com

Gah! where do these people get their clothes?? I'm very envious-

From: [identity profile] marc17.livejournal.com

Europe most likely. This was at Agra during WGT, so this is also probably the best of the 30,000 goths in attendance who are likely to do such things.

i love the 18th century fashions, so that was a wonderful set for me.

now, just to get some…

Regrettably, in my experience, the only way to have such things happen is to organize them oneself.

That said, a picnic isn`t all that tricky to plan. And having orchestrated a flock of lolitas on an antique carousel this past weekend, I can attest that the effort is well worth the result!

Amazing...

We must.. must.. have a picinic... After my wedding when I'll have pretty Victorian clothes to wear. :) (And hopefully enough other people will dress as such, that we can have at least a small part of the reception feel like this!)

Ooh and a phonograph with huge trumpet out on the lawn.

*swoons*

How Lovely.

Once the weather stills itself and realizes it is actually time for Spring/Summer, we should have an event that encourages people to dress up in a similar fashion.

The headbangers sure look out of place, but the rest have such beautiful dresses and frocks. And the mother and daughter picture was so cute. :)

From: [identity profile] jetspeaks.livejournal.com

Oh, that is lovely! Makes me want to dress up again too.
(forgive me, I followed you over here from [livejournal.com profile] water_of_fire's journal)

I think I am in love with this guy (http://www.viona-art.com/fotomap/gothic/dark.meetings/wgt2008/71.jpg)

Also the little girl with the umbrella and the white lace skirt was just so adorabobble!!

From: [identity profile] water-of-fire.livejournal.com

Oh my God in heaven.

I'd most like to see the details of the outfits on the couple in all white. Wowwwww.
